Seeking Wise Counsel!

Seeking Wise Counsel is extremely important regardless of what type of problem you are facing in your life.  There is always someone who knows more than you in regards to how to turn a problem into a solution.

wise-counsel2.jpg?width=225

God’s Word  tells us that there is benefit in a “multitude” of counselors.–Proverbs 11:14

“It was high counsel that I once heard given to a young person, ‘always do what you are afraid to do.”–Ralph Waldo Emerson

With the understanding that a wise counselor is someone who knows answers which will be directly applied or directly relate to your  problem.  It is also important to know that everyone who claims to be a counselor can give wise counsel regarding every topic.

In other words, never follow any advice, no matter how good it sounds, until you feel as deeply in your spirit as you think in your mind concerning that the counsel is indeed wise.

wise-counsel1.jpg?width=278

If you are seeking financial counseling, be sure to go to a financial counselor, or a financial adviser.

If you are seeking counseling in regards to your physical health, then it is important to go to a physician, nutritionist, or qualified trainer or fitness expert.

If you are seeking advice regarding marriage or relationship counseling, then you need to seek after someone who has wisdom regarding relationships.  Such as a marriage counselor, minister or relationship coach.

“No man is so foolish but he may sometimes give another good counsel, and no man so wise that he may not easily err if he takes no other counsel than his own. He that is taught only by himself has a fool for a master.”–Hunter S Thompson

The point here is to seek ‘Counsel’ where it can be found! However, never just listen to only one persons opinion.  Go after a second opinion, or else seek out a second voice to confirm or corroborate with the advice you have been given.

Be sure to check out the counsel you are given by the Word of God.

wise-counsel3.jpg?width=294

Realize that counseling is of little benefit to a person who doesn’t want to seek wise counsel, or who doesn’t want genuine change and growth.  It just ends up being a waste of your time.  The desire for change has to be there in order to benefit from counseling.

“The way of the fool is right in his own eyes; but a wise man is he who listens to counsel.”–Proverbs 12:15

“If honest of heart and uprightness before God were lacking or if I did not patiently wait on God for instruction, or if I preferred the counsel of my fellow-men to the declarations of the Word of God, I made great mistakes.”–George Mueller

“He that gives good advice, builds with one hand; he that gives good counsel and example, builds with both; but he that gives good admonition and bad example, builds with one hand and pulls down with the other.”–Francis Bacon

wise-counsel.jpg?width=266

When seeking wise counsel, there must be an honest approach in identifying where a person is and what they are ready to receive.  Do your homework and research the qualifications of the person you seek after.  Be sure they are qualified to give good sound, usable advice.

Some Durable Truths!

There are some durable truths about ourselves that we may have neglected to see or failed to remember.

truth-300x158.jpg?width=300

These truths  were recognized thousands of years ago, and have continued to stand the test of time. Here I will spell out  four of them, along with some ideas dealing with how to use this knowledge.

1.  Durable Truths Concerning Self Interest.

We are all self interested in one way or the other.  Even when we sacrifice for others, this is even motivated by our own selfish desires. These desires include good feelings along with wanting to see or even make the world the way we desire it to be.

From time to time we may Forget this, and we may become bitter from trying to “do the right thing.”  In order to avoid this bitterness which comes along with “duty,” we need to recognize that  being a good person and doing the right thing is just self interest.

“Self-interest makes some people blind, and others sharp-sighted.”–Francois de Rochefoucauld

self-interest.jpg?width=270

“There is some self-interest behind every friendship. There is no friendship without self-interests. This is a bitter truth.”–Chanakya

We can also point out the self-interest of others when we want to correct their behavior. Telling a man he’s wrong isn’t usually enough to change his behavior. It’s better to show him his true interest – that behaving in a better way is better for HIM. Don’t forget the normal and healthy self-interest in dealing with others AND with yourself.

“The kind of society which we still have is maybe, in some cases, getting worse. Competition is becoming a virtue. Intense competition drives people to go more and more into self-interest. Even to see other folks as competition.”–Major Owens

“It has always seemed strange to me… the things we admire in men, kindness and generosity, openness, honesty, understanding and feeling, are the concomitants of failure in our system. And those traits we detest, sharpness, greed, acquisitiveness, meanness, egotism and self-interest, are the traits of success. And while men admire the quality of the first they love the produce of the second.”–John Steinbeck

2.  Durable Truths Regarding Mistakes.

mistakes.jpg?width=256

“Have no fear of perfection. You’ll never reach it.”–Salvador Dali

This statement can be seen as negativity, however, recognizing the truth is never a negative act.  It is a fact that we all make mistakes. The greatest man or woman alive – whoever he or she may be, has done some pretty stupid things.

This really isn’t an attack on human greatness, just a recognition that human greatness isn’t dependent upon doing things perfectly.

Perfectionists suffer from the demands placed upon themselves, at the same time there are others who ‘hesitate to act’ for fear of failure and making mistakes.  We have to accept the fact  that making mistakes is normal.  Never dwell on the those mistakes!

“Do your work, then step back – The only path to serenity.”–Lao Tzu

3.  Durable Truths Regarding Learning.

learn.jpg?width=258

The benefit which comes from making mistakes is that they give us a chance to learn, and so avoid even bigger mistakes. Of course, we also can learn from our successes, and from the successes of others.

We should view mistakes and successes, both our own and others, as the great opportunities they are. Always seize that chance to learn more and therefore,  live better.

4.  Durable Truths Regarding  Change.

change.jpg?width=275

You've probably seen people who appear to learn nothing from their mistakes, truth?Yet, you’ve also probably known as well as read about those who turned their lives around! Change is possible, yet, another truth is that people often don’t change.  They get in a rut and refuse to come out of it.  Just sit and feel sorry for themselves.

The Durable Truth Regarding Change, however, is that we CAN change.

Being Strong and Courageous!

Being Strong and Courageous begins first with our mindset!

strong-and-courageous.jpg?width=213

“Be strong and Courageous.  Do not be terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”–Joshua 1:9

Admit to the fact that you either have the mindset of a conqueror, or the mindset of a weakling or failure.  The fear of failure is based upon the fear of death, but to overcome failure we must remove the negativity and the failure mindset from our beings and replace our thoughts and beliefs with positive thoughts that are motivated or geared to faith, belief and success.

“He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.”–Muhammad Ali

This can be done by renewing our mind with the Word of God daily, as we are limited only by our perspective, intelligence, time, space and our humanity.  Meeting God daily on a one on one basis removes our earthly limitations.  ”Be strong and of a good courage!”

“Because of a great love, one is courageous.”–Lao Tzu

Learn to banish fear from your life.  Understand that you do have the capability to take the necessary steps for personal fulfillment by helping others, attaining new friends, growing new personable contacts and better ideas which will lead to the fulfilling of your inner dreams.

By reducing and eventually removing the fear and worry from your life, you will begin to see new options, new ways of doing things, and receive new ways of relating to life that were invisible to you before.

strong-and-courageous1.jpg?width=286

“Love bravely, live bravely, be courageous, there’s really nothing to lose. There’s no wrong you can’t make right again, so be kinder to yourself, you know, have fun, take chances. There’s no bounds.”–Jewel

Being Strong and Courageous allows you to abandon worry and fear from your life and thereby gain the confidence to pursue a new career or dream, gives you the emotional freedom to ask others for help, the ability to handle criticism as well as rejection with ease.  It gives you the confidence to allow yourself to take a risk, speak to a group, ask for a necessary raise, do more for your favorite charity and the courage to invest in a business.

“Work hard for what you want because it won’t come to you without a fight. You have to be strong and courageous and know that you can do anything you put your mind to. If somebody puts you down or criticizes you ,just keep on believing in yourself and turn it in to something positive.”–Leah LaBelle

“Good ideas are not adopted automatically. They must be driven into practice with courageous patience.”–Hyman Rickover

strong-and-courageous2.jpg?width=225

Fear paralyzes and stops you in your tracks.  It has the ability to overwhelm you and immobilize you.  Being Strong and Courageous is God’s pattern of success by purifying us of past failures, giving us fresh revelation from His Word, and thereby leading us into “paths of righteousness” which will end in Success.

Aim Above The Mark!

It is Always Important to Aim Above the Mark in order to reach the Mark.

aim-above2.jpg?width=225

“We aim above the mark to hit the mark.”–Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Aim above morality. Be not simply good, be good for something.”–Henry David Thoreau

“In the long run, men hit only what they aim at. Therefore, they had better aim at something high.”–Henry David Thoreau

It has been duly noted that ‘Change’ is difficult for most people. Many times it seems that our entire identity is wrapped up in that which we’d learned as children.  Even as adults we tend to believe that the things learned in childhood will continue to work for us when dealing with people, allowing us to survive, thrive as well as, fit in.

aim-above3.jpg?width=194

At the same time there are those people who have had to learn to thrive while in the midst of change and have had to learn to be adaptable by being open to new ideas while embracing change, yet, many others have had to fight for survival and every table-scrap that came their way. Behavior is learned and it takes ‘work’ to unlearn and dismantle these old beliefs.

The truth of the matter is that a win-win is always possible. Once you are able to see beyond your ego and recognize that abundance is available, as well as, people, minds, and ideas can come together and create amazing changes that improve the current scenarios for many, many people.

“Every art and every inquiry, and similarly every action and choice, is thought to aim at some good; and for this reason the good has rightly been declared to be that at which all things aim.”–Aristotle

aim-above1.jpg?width=225

When you work with people who have an abundant and generous attitude, you are uplifted, the team soars, and amazing energy and creativity is unleashed.

But, at the same time this type of attitude will be much harder to sustain, and  elevate within others when you encounter individuals driven by the mindset of scarcity and competition.

People such as Steve Jobs who are visionaries, have sought to bring about such mind shifts in society and in business.

Aim Above The Mark:  It is often better to take the high road.

This isn’t about judging others as wrong or seeing yourself as better than others. It is about recognizing your own truth as to how you wish to BE in the world.

Never compromise your integrity.
Never get caught up in the competition.

Always see the vision, see the outcome, and feel the purpose and passion you’re driven to offer the world, then give it freely. We will all die. You will not take anything from this life with you. So therefore, give what you have to offer the world. What is not given will be lost forever.

“Don’t aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally.”–David Frost

If it is your goal to truly bring about positive change and serve others, then how it will be accomplished becomes less important and seeing it accomplished becomes more important.

Though it may be a blow to your ego when others criticize your inspiration, or someone takes the credit for something you’ve introduced, holding fast to the benefits for everyone will often soften the sting.  It is important to pick and choose those places where you’ll offer yourself.  The key will be to evaluate whether it is serving a common good.

When you’re getting compensated for your contributions, an attitude of gratitude will serve to your spirit, peace. However, if you continually feel abused and stomped on, maybe it’s time to move on to a more collaborative team, as well as,  a more receptive and appreciative audience.

Knowing that you are accomplishing your purpose and living your passion will be your reward.  In time, it will be recognized.

Impostors will eventually be seen and heart & soul will always outlast the mind & ego.

Along the way, through the journey, that is your life and career, you will need to hold fast to the true inner qualities and nature of the brilliance that is YOU. Never allow these negative experiences to become something that undermines your value.  You are not the negative experience!  Many times, the negativity we experience from others, is more a reflection of them and less about who you are.

Since we all have different lenses, different gifts, different wiring, and different experiences. Difference will not be something to be judged, it is a gift of diversity that brings the pieces of the puzzle of life together and creates a society, a solution, a technology, etc., together for the benefit of us all.

aim-above.jpg?width=259

Aim Above the Mark and never doubt yourself when others cannot see the vision you see. Remain true to yourself, keep your intentions high being filled with integrity and ethics, and the transition will be that you will attract the right support, the right people, and the right opportunities. Lower the ego and Aim Above the Mark of the vision.

“An aim in life is the only fortune worth finding.”–Robert Louis Stevenson

Need some Google Traffic Tips That Will quickly Boost Your SEO Rankings?

google-traffic.jpg?width=257
Ranking in Google is still the metric that online marketers live and die by. If you can’t get the #1 spot for your target keywords then there is something you’re not grasping yet. Worry not though! These Google traffic tips will help you move in the right direction.

Diversify Your Media

This one of the least used Google trafficking tips. Everyone thinks that you just need to have a ton of articles on your site to rank. This will actually raise a red flag with the big G in many cases. A real, authoritative site is going to have a plethora of different media types. Make sure that you’re diversifying to prove that you’re not just another spammer.

Write Longer Articles

articles.jpg?width=234

The old wisdom was that you only needed to write 300-500 word articles to begin building credibility within Google’s algorithm. There is a lot of debate over whether or not this was ever one of the useful Google trafficking tips; but you can bet that it doesn’t work now regardless. Longer, comprehensively researched articles are what is performing best now. So think less about quantity and more about quality!

Focus Your Links

links.jpg?width=225

From 2008 to 2011 link building resembled a free for all: you placed your links wherever they would stick and hoped for the best. Panda and Penguin killed that strategy. You need to be a lot more careful with where and how you build your links these days. Your best bet is to focus only on sites within your broader niche and to embed those links within useful, insightful posts. This seems like work; but the staying power (and brand building) makes the effort well worth it.

Implementing these tips aren’t the be all, end all. They are a great first step though so put them to work today!

Laughter: Medicine and Pain Reliever

Laughter is the best medicine and pain reliever around.  It costs nothing and is very beneficial to stress relieving.

laugh.jpg?width=276

“Laughter does good like medicine.”–Proverbs 17:22

In today’s times we have come to the understanding that stress has a negative impact on both our physical and mental health.  However, what is not as commonly understood is that laughter has many positive health benefits, which can counteract the negative affects of the stress related response and any pain involved.

“Laughter is the tonic, the relief, the surcease for pain.”–Charlie Chaplin

laughter.jpg?width=188

“Against the assault of laughter nothing can stand.”–Mark Twain

Laughter increases the functioning of the immune system, which helps the body fight off illness and disease. Some studies have demonstrated that laughter causes the increased production of ‘catecholamines’ ( sympathomimetic “fight-or-flight” hormones that are released by the adrenal glands in response to stress) and ‘endorphin’s’.

These chemicals, when released by the brain into the blood stream during laughter, increase feelings of happiness and well-being.

“The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.”–E E Cummings

Laughter is also known to decrease the secretion of cortisol, as well as, the sedimentation rate, and therefore is beneficial in stimulating the body’s immune system.

The flow of Oxygen in the blood also increases during laughter. Arteries tend to relax, heart rate and blood temperature are lowered, circulation increases and the skin temperature rises.  Each of these physical responses have a beneficial effect on both the cardiovascular and respiratory health.

Laughter has the potential to help speed healing from emotional pain, and increase overall health and well-being,  when it’s benefits are fully realized as a part of a stress management plan.

While the average human being laughs approximately 8 to 10 times daily, a stress management plan which includes laughter as a part of the daily program would
include rigorous “laughing” as an exercise to be performed several times throughout the day.

“Laughter is the sun that drives winter from the human face.”–Victor Hugo

laughter1.jpg?width=209

Full belly laughter, which is an involuntary response of the human brain, can be triggered by watching comedies, listening to comedians, telling jokes or just allowing oneself to participate in fun and silly activities.

As a result of all these findings, you can understand why Laughter is considered both medicine and pain reliever.  Have you laughed today?

Who Are You?

If you truly want to figure out Who You Are, you will begin by thinking of the word TEAM.

who-are-you2.jpg?width=275

Team personality traits:

Top Gun – Extrovert- motivated and ready to win.  No nonsense.

Engager-Also extroverted, social leaders and action takers.  Self confident. Detail oriented.

Accommodater-Introverts but desire to be liked.  Good planners, sensitive, loyal and dependable.

Meticulous-Introverts.  Aim for quality and Consistency.  Like to work alone.  Absorb information.   Logical and Detail Oriented.

Begin by learning which one of these personality types is more like you, it will help you determine who you are.  What are your likes and dislikes?  What do you want to achieve in life?

“If you want to be original just try being yourself, because God has never made two people exactly alike.”–Bernard Meltzer

“I feel that the simplicity of life is just being yourself.”–Bobby Brown

The simple fact is that – YOU ARE ALREADY PERFECT! You just have to learn your personality traits and work with them.  We each may have a little of each of these personality traits.  However,  which one you are you most comfortable with!  Determine what you are good at.

All of nature, or existence, or reality, or whatever you prefer to call it, is already perfect.

There is nothing outside of yourself that you need to find to complete you. You are already complete.

“Being yourself is one of the greatest things you can possibly do. Being true to yourself.”–Jann Wenner

who-are-you.jpg?width=212

Everything you need to “be you” is already within you.  It is your responsibility to determine and release your assets or talents.  You are perfect within yourself.  You just have to learn Who You Are really.

A rock is a rock. It doesn’t try to be anything other than itself. It does not look elsewhere for its identity. It just is a rock, and it’s perfect.

A tree does not try to be something it’s not. It’s a tree. And it spends its time just being a tree.  Without struggle, it is what it is- perfect.

If you were meant to be something or someone else, then you would be.

“Really rejoice in being yourself. Have your own drumbeat.”–Kim Cattrall

So why don’t you feel perfect? Why are you not happy? Why are you looking outside of yourself for that something else which will complete you?

These things are just your external environment. And if you wish to change them, you can certainly do it. The circumstances you live with now are a result of your choices thus far, and it is possible for  you to create a new life for the future by choosing to make changes in your life, and taking appropriate action.

If that is your desire, you can change your finances. You can change your career. You can improve your relationships. And making these changes will certainly make your life different.

Personal development and growth does not improve you. It simply expands your awareness of the truth- that you are already perfect.  God created you and all He creates is perfect in itself.  We must realize, though, that life is a training ground where we are to learn and increase daily.

Until you recognize this fact, you will continue in your suffering.

Happiness cannot be found outside you. Happiness comes from within, when you give up the illusion, and just love yourself unconditionally.

So! How about no more thinking, “I should be this…”, or “I should have that.” How about thinking, “I am exactly who I am, and no-one can do a more perfect job at it than me.”

who-are-you-1-300x143.jpg?width=300

“Don’t try to be like me. Try to be like yourself. Try to be very good at being yourself.”–Josh Groban

Learn to be happy being who you are.  Remember to be completely happy, you must learn to look beyond your talents and your likes.  Be your natural self.  Know who you are!

Retirement: Now or Later?

In order to be able to retire well without having to be concerned or  worried about running out of money, you must  first figure out  exactly how much money you really need.

retirement.jpg?width=259

“Too little money makes people desperate; too much money makes people greedy” – Aristotle

“As far as your personal goals are and what you actually want to do with your life, it should never have to do with the government. You should never depend on the government for your retirement, your financial security, for anything. If you do, you’re screwed.”–Drew Carey

“To enjoy a long, comfortable retirement, save more today.”–Suze Orman

retirement1.jpg?width=300

Those in the  financial industry will tell you many things, but we must remember that they increase their profits by selling more financial products. These can include mutual funds, GIC’s, IRA, RRSP’s, bonds, stocks, IPO’s, life insurance and a range of other products. Many times you will be asked to save as much as possible for as long as possible, regardless of how much you need. But the truth is:  Only you can answer that by determining what kind of lifestyle you desire.

“I love the Roth IRA.  Tax-free income in retirement is a truly great deal.”–Suze Orman

retirement2.jpg?width=209

Here’s a story which illustrates this (Retirement: Now or Later?)

A few years ago, a very rich businessman decided to take a vacation to a small tropical island in the South Pacific. He had worked hard all his life and had decided that now is the time to enjoy the fruits of his labor. He’s excited about visiting the island because he’s heard that there is incredible fishing there. He loved fishing as a young boy, but hadn't gone in years because he had been so busy working to save for his retirement.

On the first day, he had his breakfast and headed to the beach. The time is around 9:30 am.  On the beach he spots a fisherman coming in with a large bucket filled with fish!

“How long did you fish for that catch?” he asks.

The fisherman looks at the businessman with a wide grin across his face and explains that he fishes for about three hours every day. The businessman then asks him why he returned so quickly because due to the haul the fisherman has, he’s worried that all the fish are gone.

“Don’t worry”, says the fisherman, “There’s still plenty of fish out there.”

Dumbfounded, the businessman asked the fisherman why he didn’t continue catching more fish. The fisherman patiently explains that what he caught is all he needs.

“I’ll spend the rest of the day playing with my family, talking with my friends and maybe drinking a little wine.  After that I’ll relax on the beach.

Now the rich businessman figures he needs to teach this peasant fisherman a thing or two. So he explains to him that he should stay out all day and catch more fish. Then he would be able to save up the extra money he makes and buy an even bigger boat to catch even more fish. Then he would be able to  keep reinvesting his profits in even more boats and hire many other fishermen to work for him.  Then, if he really works hard, in 20 or 30 years he’ll be a very rich man indeed.

The businessman feels pleased that he’s helped teach this simple fellow how to become rich.  However, the fisherman looks at the businessman with a puzzled look on his face and asks him what was he suppose to do after he became very rich. So the businessman responds quickly:

“You can spend time with your family, talk with your friends, and maybe drink a little wine. Or you could just relax on the beach.”

You see, this is a very simple story, but depending on the lifestyle you want – you may be closer to retirement than you think.

It’s quite easy to say that having money is not important; but from one who at one time or another having been in the position of wondering how you are going to eat as a child, I can honestly say and understand that having money is better than not.

How much money is yet another question only you can decide; but having the power to pursue your dreams comfortably is bliss.

“Financial literacy is an issue that should command our attention because many Americans are not adequately organizing finances for their education, healthcare and retirement.”–Ron Lewis

Here is a basic formula you can use to help you calculate how much you really need to retire:

Total current income (your salary) – taxes – work expenses – all debt interest (be debt free before you retire!) + New lower tax expenses (investment tax vs. earned income tax) + costs of your hobbies and desired lifestyle = How much do you need every year after taxes?

Your outcome will determine whether you are ready for Retirement now or later.

How Good Is Your Memory?

Memory is something remembered from the past such as a recollection.   From this description, honestly, ask yourself. How good is your memory?

memory2.jpg?width=223

Robert Louis Stevenson says, “I’ve got a good memory for forgetting.”

“Memory is the treasury and guardian of all things.”–Marcus Tullius Cicero

There are many memory techniques that work well, but you’ll forget them when you need them most – unless you make using them a habit. Therefore,  when you take the time to learn a technique, be sure to use it until it becomes automatic.

Some Memory Techniques for you to try are as follows:

*Using a Story-List

*Memory games are good.

memory.jpg?width=200

There is a game that involves looking at a table covered with 15 various items. You are given a few minutes to look over the table and examine the items, next you are taken to another room, and everyone is given paper and a pencil. You are then required to write down as many items as you can remember.  Seldom  will everyone remember all 15 items!

“The true art of memory is the art of attention.”–Samuel Johnson

There is a technique to use which ties all the items together in an imaginative story.  For example,  say you want to remember a list of the following things:

Soap, milk, honey, fork, and flowers.

Start  by creating a vivid story in your imagination, and adding each item to it as you go:

At the sink, you reach for the SOAP. The soap dish is full of MILK, so you wash your hands in that. Then you comb HONEY into your hair with a FORK, and finally pick up a bouquet of FLOWERS and smile at the mirror.  Say each item while mentally reviewing your “movie,” and you’ll remember all five things, even the next day.

More  Memory Tricks:

*Tell yourself to remember.

For instance, when you learn a person’s name, simply tell yourself, “remember that“. This signals your unconscious mind to rank this input as more important.

It is important to know ‘WHY’ you want to remember something, then  ‘HOW’ you’ll remember it.

To remember a person, for example, ask yourself, WHY they’ll be important to you in the future. HOW, imagine where you’ll see them next, and connect that to anything you notice about them.  Seeing the importance of remembering really helps, and additional associations such as, (where you expect to see the person next) tends to set the memory more firmly in your brain.

memory1.jpg?width=266

Do you ever forget where you put your car keys? You’ve probably tried retracing your steps, at least doing it in your imagination. This can work well, but even better is to prevent the forgetting beforehand.  The next time you to to place your set the keys on the chair, see yourself walking in and setting the keys on the table. This helps you not to forget where they are.

“Why is it that our memory is good enough to retain the least triviality that happens to us, and yet not good enough to recollect how often we have told it to the same person?”–Francois de La Rochefoucauld

There are many more of these memory tricks.  However, If you want them to be useful, don’t just read about them.  Begin to take a  memory technique or two and start using them today, then turn them  into a habit.  Then the next time you’re asked, “How good is your Memory,” you will be able to say, good, if not excellent.

I have an excellent memory, a most excellent memory.”–Bill Gates

Making ‘Shyness’ A Thing of the Past!

Making ‘Shyness’ A Thing of the Past is done by overcoming  the tendency to feel awkward, worried or tense during social encounters.

shyness-300x108.jpg?width=300

“Shyness is inherently uncomfortable; introversion is not. The traits do overlap, though psychologists debate to what degree.”–Susan Cain

Have you had some difficulty coping with people or situations? Then I have some great news for you. There is absolutely no need for you to suffer from shyness any longer. There’s also no need for you to feel insecure and fear that you are being judged with every step you take.

shyness2.jpg?width=225

Winning the war over shyness will take some  practice, but is definitely well worth the effort and the result will be an  increase of confidence and self esteem.   You can begin to wake up feeling good about yourself, able to face the world with confidence and security in the knowing that no feeling of shyness can come between your way of achieving your desires.

There are hundreds of books written on the subject of how you can overcome shyness and gain confidence, but here are a few techniques that anyone can practice.

shyness1.jpg?width=273

Suggestions for overcoming shyness:

1. Daily, when you arise, get in front of a mirror and say out loud “I feel terrific! I feel terrific! I feel terrific!”

Repeat this affirmation with enthusiasm at least ten times daily  until it’s ingrained into your subconscious mind. This will  feel a bit self conscious at first, so it’s okay to lock yourself in the bathroom. The results will amaze you.

2. Always feel good about yourself.

Do this by first looking your best. Dress up more often. This gives you an extra feeling of confidence and self esteem. On its own,  just knowing that you look good will boost your confidence and reinforce with others that there are things about you that are worth getting to know.

3. Take a risk at least once a day.

Taking risks is very invigorating and helps you  conquer fears.  Risk taking also helps you grow in confidence and self esteem. Begin with small risks and fears and as you overcome them move onto bigger challenges. There’s nothing you cannot do. Be confident in knowing that change will  only help you grow, and boost your self confidence.

4. When you are engaged in a one on one conversation, or with a larger group of people, let them know that you’re shy.

This prevents them from misreading you and they are far more likely to invite you into the conversation rather than leave you just listening and wishing you could contribute.

Many people, me included, find following a conversation in a noisy room difficult. If you are having difficulty hearing, let them know, so all can move so that you can hear. People respect honesty, and vulnerability and you will attract more honest people into your life as a result.

5. Realize that rejection is a fact of life that everyone experiences.

The fact is, is that it is rarely you that is being rejected. If you are rejected for some reason or another, don’t take it personal, learn from it.  We are all different and will not agree on everything, whether it’s for a date or joining a business opportunity.

Rejection does not devalue you in any way. Accept this and know that you will get over it. Never take it personally and keep in mind that if people reject you it is because of their own likes and dislikes and not because of who you are. You are equally entitled to reject others because of your likes and dislikes.

6. Engage in activities that make you feel excited and good about yourself or start a hobby that gives you a feeling of relaxation.

This could be range from anything from gardening to dancing, Tai Chi or Karate. Take some lessons, learn or master a musical instrument or take singing lessons. Do something that excites you and makes you take a risk. Exploring things that make you feel excited is a great antidote for making “Shyness” a thing of the past..

“My first language was shy. It’s only by having been thrust into the limelight that I have learned to cope with my shyness.”–Al Pacino

One of the many Benefits of Traffic Exchanges is that they are just one of the many ways for website owners to drive traffic to their websites.

traffic1.jpg?width=238

There are many reasons why you should take advantage of Traffic Exchanges. What are some of these benefits you ask?

traffic.jpg?width=258

The Five Top Benefits of Traffic Exchanges:

1. Quick Traffic

Unlike SEO where you need to wait a few months (a few weeks if you’re lucky) before you can see traffic coming in, with traffic exchanges you will be able to see traffic right away.

2. Cheap Traffic

Being cheap is another one of the many benefits of traffic exchanges and website owners are looking to benefit this cost effective advertising.  Some websites actually offer free accounts, as well as, paid memberships as upgrades. This is so unlike pay-per-click (PPC) advertising where you are required to pay for every click on your advertisement.

3. Great for Testing

Traffic exchanges are a great way to test the effectiveness of your ad copy. Traffic exchanges are set up so that people are forced to view web pages, unlike in PPC ad campaigns where people can click on your ad and quickly click on the x button, which is money wasted.

4. Competitor Intelligence

Joining traffic exchanges actually gives you the opportunity to see what your competitors are up to. If you’re new to online business, you will know which products are hot and what strategies are being used to sell things online.

5. Opportunity to gain even more Traffic

Traffic exchange websites lets you earn more traffic through your referrals or downlines, as well as surf to obtain downline referrals. This is the most unique of the benefits of traffic exchange.

For all the ‘benefits’ mentioned above, I believe that traffic exchanges should be on your list of sources of traffic.

Effective Planning

Effective Planning is known as Goal Setting.

effective-planning2.jpg?width=232

“Learn from the past, set vivid, detailed goals for the future, and live in the only moment of time over which you have any control: now.”–Denis Waitley

Effective Planning or goal setting is what will illuminate the road to your success.

“Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.”–Tony Robbins

“If you set goals and go after them with all the determination you can muster, your gifts will take you places that will amaze you.”–Les Brown

“Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success.”–Pablo Picasso

effective-planning.jpg?width=261

The Purpose of Effective Planning is:

1.  To direct your time, entry, talents, and skills into the areas where they will be the most effective in leading you towards your vision.

2.  Will make the most effective use of your congenial competencies, by  using them to establish a more meaningful pattern of success.

3.  Help you identify the results you expect to achieve, then measure your progress towards those results, and make any corrections necessary along the way to achieving your results.

4.  Help you identify any obstacles in the pathway of your success, then deal with them more effectively.

“Crystallize your goals. Make a plan for achieving them and set yourself a deadline. Then, with supreme confidence, determination and disregard for obstacles and other people’s criticisms, carry out your plan.”–Paul J Meyer

“What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.”–Henry David Thoreau

effective-planning1.jpg?width=227

A goal will not be effective if you don’t make it ‘specific and measurable’.  Goal setting is a left brain activity, however, your right brain can play a role in helping you meet your desired goals.  Effective Planning, therefore, would be using both sides of your brain.

effective-planning.jpg?width=261

In Effective Planning each goal that you achieve will take you closer to your vision.  So set your goals, work hard to achieve them by directing your efforts in a systematic way.

Law of Attraction Guidelines...

The Law of Attraction is the name given to the belief that “like attracts like” and that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts, one can bring about positive or negative results. The law of attraction, like all other laws, have ‘guidelines’ that need to be applied for maximum success.

law-of-attraction2.jpg?width=215

The universe is an forever unfolding world of mystery.  When you discover the secrets to being a ‘cosmic magnet’ the world and money will honor your desires.

“We are not onlookers peering into the unified field of separate, objective reality – we are the unified field. We can reach beyond the physical body and extend the influence of intelligence. Every thought you are thinking creates a wave in the unified field. It ripples through all the layers of intellect, mind, senses, and matter, spreading out in wider and wider circles. You are like a light radiating not photons but consciousness. As they radiate, your thoughts have an effect on everything. Your relationship to life is the same as that of one cell to your whole body. One cell can talk to your whole body. One cell can influence your whole body. You can talk to the whole of life – influence the whole of life. The whole of life is as alive as we are. The distinction between ‘in here’ and ‘out there’ is a false one – as if the heart disregarded the skin because it was not on the inside.”–Deepak Chopra

While affirmations work for many things they don’t necessarily work well for manifesting money; it’s because of the deeply entrenched belief that most people have regarding money. It could take a lifetime for some for those beliefs to change; and while that belief is unchanged the money problems continue.

“Think of this random Universe where everything is possible. The organizational skills belong to Law of Attraction. If you will relax and allow Law of Attraction to do the organization and the managing, then you can spend your time doing the things that please you.”–Abraham Hicks

law-of-attraction-guidelines.jpg?width=272

Have you ever noticed that the things you seem to have the most difficulty with are those things which have the most power over you? Money happens to be one thing in physical reality that has power over most people. If you truly understood the nature of reality and how it works, money would cease to be a problem.

It is possible to switch the dynamic and begin to Master Money.

Three Law of Attraction Guidelines to help you begin to Master Money:

1.  Money Becomes the Servant while You become the Master.

As you switch your perspective, your world will begin to change.  Seeing Money as an ‘entity’ which is here to serve you. You are the divine one, here to experience life in this physical body.

You are never to be a slave to money, instead you should become master above money while money serves you.

This is a tiny shift in perspective,  but a powerful one!

2. See Experience as More Important Than Money.

Many people are trying to use the Law of Attraction to manifest more money , yet they are going about it in the wrong manner.  They are ‘chasing money’ as opposed to having ‘money come’ to them. If you practice limiting  the things you think you need and begin to focus more on ‘experience’ than having “things,” you then free up your ability to become a magnet.

You see, the more experiences you have, the more expanded you become.  Money tends to flow to one who is in an expanded state. The more experiences you have,  the richer you feel and the richer you act. You now value life and the uniqueness of experience much more than you value ‘things.’

From this state of being you are not ‘wanting money’ so you become a magnet drawing money, and now money will come and come abundantly. The Law of Attraction honors this state of being and thereby rewards you for it.

As you increase your life experiences you will begin to increase your vibration and attraction.

3.   Higher Vibration Mode Makes You a Powerful Money Magnet.

As you expand in vibration you increase your ability to draw things to you easily.  Higher vibration brings with it  more power. There are many advanced manifesting techniques that can dramatically shift your Law of Attraction practices to the next level. These vibrations are phenomenal when used with a clear intention.

Shifting your vibration can be very hard for the average person. It’s usually because when you are bombarded with the daily frustrations, you may begin to doubt that the Law of Attraction is even working in your favor.

“You are a creator; you create with your every thought. You often create by default, for you are getting what you are giving your attention to wanted or unwanted but you know by how it feels if what you are getting (creating) is what you are wanting or if it is not what you are wanting. (Where is your attention focused?)–Abraham Hicks

“Keep your thoughts positive, because your thoughts become your words. Keep your words positive, because your words become your behaviours. Keep your behaviours positive, because your behaviours become your habits. Keep your habits positive, because your habits become your values. Keep your values positive, because your values become your destiny.” – Gandhi

law-of-attraction1.jpg?width=284

The Law of Attraction has guidelines to be followed in order to attract what it is you desire. There are Cosmic forces which will remove mental, physical and emotional blocks that are unseen to your present self. These Cosmic forces intensify your desires and draw them much easier to you. You will become an easy magnet for money without the struggle. What you want wants you. While others wait weeks and months for what they want the cosmic forces help you in manifesting faster. It’s purely magical, or is it divine?

Possessing Courage!

Courage is defined as greatness of heart; the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to meet difficulty, danger, pain or fear with a boldness.

courage2.jpg?width=240

“Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.”–Winston Churchill

“Courage is grace under pressure.”–Ernest Hemingway

“Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.”–Mark Twain

God commanded Joshua ‘three times’ to be strong and have ‘good courage’ and assured him of His constant presence if His commandments were obeyed. (Joshua 1:8-9)

He promised that: “The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.” (Deuteronomy 33:27)

“You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.  You are able to say to yourself, ‘I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.”–Eleanor Roosevelt

corage1.jpg?width=271

Knowing the Lord and obeying His commandments are the two main ingredients for the God kind of courage:

El Shaddai, the All-Sufficient and Mighty One is on your side!

He is Jehovah-nissi; the Lord, your Victory Banner. (Exodus 17:15)

Isn’t it interesting that the victory banner is hoisted AFTER the battle! That means that the battle is already won! Christ’s defeat of Satan on the cross has made you more than a conqueror. (Romans 8:37)

Let God know about the battles you’re facing and then nestle underneath the everlasting arms while he destroys your enemy.

Understand that you have the privilege and honor of being  equipped with the full armor of God. Moses and Joshua were assured of God’s presence and guidance due to their obedience to the Law. Therefore, through Christ’s sacrifice you too have the assurance of having already overcome because “greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.” (I John 4:4)

“You will never do anything in this world without courage. It is the greatest quality of the mind next to honor.”–Aristotle

“It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.”–Alan Cohen

David’s only physical armor in his battle against Goliath was a slingshot! To the heavily armored giant he shouted:

“Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear; but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of Hosts, the God of the armies.” (1 Samuel 17:45)

David was the ONLY person who knew without a doubt that God would deliver Goliath into his hands! There had been a number of battles to overthrow the Philistines – to no avail. His brother ridiculed him, the giant jeered at him, and both armies stood by in total disbelief and amusement.

courage.jpg?width=222

Then he ran up to the man whom everyone feared, with only ‘five smooth stones’ in his hand but fully armed with the anointing of the Lord of Hosts. There was not an iota of doubt in him as he knew his God; His faithfulness, His previous exploits and, most of all, His intimate fellowship with him. (1 Samuel 17)

Are you being influenced by voices of doubt and unbelief? Or do you take courage in the strength and full protection of the Lord of Hosts? Don’t forget to put on His armor. It’s not heavy but it will help you to stand and be courageous.

armor-of-god.jpg?width=229

Possessing Courage also means being fully armed:

-The Helmet of Salvation.  (Jesus your Lord and Savior)

-The breastplate of Righteousness. (Which protects your heart and most vulnerable parts.)

-The Shield of Faith to ward off doubt and unbelief.

-The Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.

-Shoes of The Gospel of Peace.

-The Belt of Truth.

“Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be  dismayed: for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)

Possessing Courage is important because:

It takes courage to love.  It takes courage to forgive; because you run the risk of rejection, ridicule and scorn.  But take heart; because ‘love motivates courage.’

“Courage is the most important of all the virtues, because without courage you can’t practice any other virtue consistently. You can practice any virtue erratically, but nothing consistently without courage.”–Maya Angelou

Called Out in Order to Go Forward!

There will be many times when we are “Called Out in Order to Go Forward!”

go-forward-300x94.jpg?width=300

We were not put on this earth for sedentary lives.  We were placed here for a purpose; and because of this purpose,  we are called out,  so that we can proceed forward.   Called out of comfort zones and from any place that hinders us from doing the work of God.

Because God is a all about People, we too, must be all about people as well.  Just be careful that you are Called and Sent and not Up and Went.  If you’re called and sent, God will go before you.  However, if you’ve just decided to to go on your own strength (Up and Went); you go alone.

Never  be afraid of the Light of God’s Direction.

Reason being is this:  Wherever God guides, He also provides.

go-forward1.jpg?width=225

When we walk in the Light of God’s Direction there will be some rules that we need to follow in order to go Forward.

Here are 40 Called Out Orders to Follow After:

Assertive Behavior!

Assertive Behavior means that you express yourself aggressively and stand up for your own personal rights and point of view.  Being confident.

assertive-behavior-300x267.jpg?width=300

Assertive behavior is a life skill which can be both useful in your inner being, as well as, outward appearance.  It doesn’t happen overnight, but through continued practice and possibly years of fine tuning.

And while you may not always get what you want, when you want,  you will always know that you gave it your best effort.

“Our ultimate freedom is the right and power to decide how anybody or anything outside of ourselves will affect us.”–Stephen R Covey

assertive1.jpg?width=252

Some tips for improving your Assertive Behavior:

1. You Must Believe in Yourself.

Practice always thinking  positively and feeding  yourself with positive inner dialogue. Daily stand in front of a mirror, look yourself in the eye, and tell yourself how wonderful you are!

2. Realize That The Only Person You Can Change is You.

You can only change what you do; and that a change in your behavior will often afford others the opportunity to behave differently towards you.

3. Respond Instead of Reacting!

Begin to start choosing how to behave, based on admitting and accepting the consequences.  Accept the fact that you – and only you – have made the choice.  No one can force you to make a choice.

4. Never Beat Yourself up For Past Behaviors and Decisions!

Instead, turn every situation into a positive learning opportunity for future behavioral change.

5. Be Aware of Your Body Language.

Make sure your body language matches your words: people tend to believe what they see rather than what they hear.

6. Instill  the Green Cross code:

Stop, Look, and Listen – then Think,  before you respond.  This will ensure that  you will stay in control of your emotions, as well as,  the situation at hand.  This will also afford other’s the opportunity to do the same.

7. Always Aim for a  Resolution-Never Self-defense.

Concentrate on the “situation at hand” rather than your own feelings, recognizing  that the other person is more probably angry about the “situation” -not  necessarily  you.

8. Always Choose Your Words Wisely.

Lose the words which signal  you’re a  pushover.  Such as: “I’m terribly sorry”, or “I’m afraid”, or “Could you possibly…?” or “Can I just …?”.

Substitute big “I” statements followed by factual descriptions,  instead of,  judgments or exaggerations. This will encourage the other person to do the same.

9. Just say “NO.”

Learn to  afford yourself all of the rights you allow everyone else to have.  You are not refusing them personally, you are refusing their request.

10. Possess a “Can Do” attitude.

Believe that things don’t just happen to you – but that you have the ability to make them happen.

assertiveness.jpg?width=259

Assertive Behavior is a positive form of aggressiveness. When we are assertive in our behavior, we have the strength to resist negative or hurtful influences. We have the ability to think for ourselves, ask for what we need, and speak up to protect ourselves, as well as, others.

What Is A Habit?

Habit is a recurrent, often unconscious pattern of behavior that is acquired through frequent repetition. In other words, something that a person does often in a regular and repeated way.

habit4.jpg?width=225

Typically, most people think of a “habit” as being negative.

“Feeling sorry for yourself, and your present condition, is not only a waste of energy but the worst habit you could possibly have.”–Dale Carnegie

Understand that the secret to your future lies within your daily habits, so ask yourself
right now:

“Are my habits today, going to help me achieve my ‘WHY’ in life?”

This is a life-empowering question if you truly ask it,  and then listen for the answer.

habits2-300x162.jpg?width=300

“Moral excellence comes about as a result of habit. We become just by doing just acts, temperate by doing temperate acts, brave by doing brave acts.”–Aristotle

“Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.”–Aristotle

Definition of Habit:

I am your constant companion.
I am your greatest helper or your heaviest burden.
I will push you onward or drag you down to failure.
I am completely at your command.
Half the things you do, you might just as well turn over to me,
and I will be able to do them quickly and correctly.
I am easily managed; you must merely be firm with me.
Show me exactly how you want something done, and after a few
lessons I will do it automatically.
I am the servant of all great men.
And, alas, of all failures as well.
Those who are great, I have made great.
Those who are failures, I have made failures.
I am not a machine, though I work with all the precision of a machine.
Plus, the intelligence of a man.
You may run me for profit, or run me for ruin; it makes no difference to me.
Take me, train me, be firm with me and I will put the world at your feet.
Be easy with me, and I will destroy you.
Who am I?
I am a HABIT!

habits1-300x160.jpg?width=300

One of my daily habits which has become the foundation of my life is
spending 45-90 minutes each and every morning, six days a week feeding my body physically by exercising and feeding my mental spirit by reading  my Bible or listening to a motivational message. This habit perks me up for the day ahead.

Everyone washes their physical body and feeds their body each morning, nevertheless, there are still approximately  95% of people who will find an ‘excuse’ about why they can not find the “TIME” to invest in a habit of feeding their MINDS!

“Repetition of the same thought or physical action develops into a habit which, repeated frequently enough, becomes an automatic reflex.”–Norman Vincent Peale

“The world has the habit of making room for the man whose actions show that he knows where he is going.”–Napoleon Hill

This goes along with the statistic that 95% of people are dead or dead broke by the age 65. I consider this particular daily habit of mine to be the driving force behind my ability to consistently maintain my intense focus on the journey of success and living a dream life.

A good habit is not usually easily maintained.  It will take purposeful action, however, if you commit today,  to begin each morning warming yourself up for the day ahead by feeding your mental spirit,as well as your physical body,  you can be sure that your entire life will change in a positive fashion very quickly.

“Winners make a habit of manufacturing their own positive expectations in advance of the event.”–Brian Tracey

It can be expressed as driving a race car with the emergency brake on and then trying to move forward, but you find that you can’t move.  Instead, you remain in the same location with your wheels spinning, burning up, making a lot of noise, but never going anywhere!  When in all actuality, all you have to do is to ‘release the brake’ and you will fly towards your ‘WHY’ in life!!

Your entire future lies in your daily habits—positive or negative. You have the most powerful force  in your hands, the ability to decide what your habits will  be.

habit3.jpg?width=298

What Is A Habit?  Habit is your constant companion, which will either reinforce you or break you down.  The choice of course is yours.

“Winning is habit.  Unfortunately, so is losing.”–Vince Lombardi

Becoming A Servant Leader!

Becoming a Servant Leader is one of the most powerful attitudes of Leadership we can possess.

“You’ll aways have everything in life that you want, if you’ll help enough other people get what they want.”–Zig Ziglar

“The leaders who work most effectively, it seems to me, never say ‘I’. And that’s not because they have trained themselves not to say ‘I’. They don’t think ‘I’. They think ‘we’; they think ‘team’. They understand their job to be to make the team function. They accept responsibility and don’t sidestep it, but ‘we’ gets the credit…. This is what creates trust, what enables you to get the task done.” –Peter F Drucker

Leadership begins with “servanthood”.  This means that we must die daily to ourselves and put other’s first.  If you put enough other’s first, success will surely follow in “due time.”

“The challenge of leadership is to be strong, but not rude; be kind, but not weak; be bold, but not bully; be thoughtful, but not lazy; be humble, but not timid; be proud, but not arrogant; have humor, but without folly.” –Jim Rohn

No one is truly a success in life until he has learned how to become a servant.  It has been said that “the way to the throne-room is through the servant’s quarters.”

“The adventure of life is to learn. The purpose of life is to grow. The nature of life is to change. The challenge of life is to overcome. The essence of life is to care. The opportunity of like is to serve. The secret of life is to dare. The spice of life is to befriend. The beauty of life is to give.” –William Arthur Ward

“People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care.” –John Maxwell

“As leaders shift their focus to customers and quality, they realize that the old authoritarian leadership style does not work anymore. To achieve quality, service, and rapid response, leaders must utilize all available talent. They must find ways to inspire, involve, and empower employees. They must create a work environment that encourages commitment, innovation, and cooperation. Instead of evaluating, leaders now coach. Instead of doing, they delegate. Instead of telling, they facilitate. No one is expected to boss anyone. Everyone is expected to participate.” –Dr Suzanne Willis Zoglio

“He that is greatest among you shall be your servant.”–Matthew 23:11

“But it shall not be so among you; but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant.”–Matthew 20:26-27

The most incredible benefit of becoming a Servant Leader is the fact that when you give of yourself to help others, you cannot help but be “personally and abundantly rewarded.”

The “rewards and blessings”  of becoming a Servant Leader will always extend far beyond what can be seen or heard.

“Life is a place of service. Joy can be real only if people look upon their life as a service and have a definite object in life outside themselves and their personal happiness.” –Leo Tolstoy

Servant Leadership will always promote the individual growth of it’s Followers.

Story regarding A Random Act of Kindness:

There was a story by a man named Christopher Williams where he remembered when he was serving in the Marines in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii!  Upon receiving news that his father had just passed away, he rushed home.  He said that the only  decent thing that he had to wear to his father’s funeral was his dress blues, yet he needed a haircut as well.

Christopher needed a haircut and  wanted to get a haircut before he boarded the plane, so he went to this barbershop in Mokapu Mall which was crowded.   Desperate, he explained his situation to one of the barbers, who was a lady named Nhanh Pham.  She immediately moved the Marine to be next in line and gave “special attention” to his haircut.

To Christopher’s surprise, when he tried to pay her, she told him the haircut was free. And not only that, she also gave him money which the other barbers in the shop had collected while he was getting a haircut and unaware of.  They wanted to make sure Christopher could buy flowers for his father’s funeral.

Due to this amazingly kind gesture, the barbers were later presented a Certificate of Commendation from Christopher’s commanding Officers in the Marine Corps.

“Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love.”–Lao Tzu

“Let us more and more insist on raising funds of love, of kindness, of understanding, of peace. Money will come if we seek first the Kingdom of God – the rest will be given.”–Mother Teresa

“Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness and understanding you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.”–Og Mandino

“A laugh, to be joyous, must flow from a joyous heart, for without kindness, there can be no true joy.”–Thomas Carlyle

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.”–Hebrews 10:24

Random Acts of Kindness are considered “good works” or charitable deeds and acts of kindness.  We must learn to devote ourselves to doing what is good, in order that we may provide for daily necessities and not live unproductive lives.  Give and it will be given to you.  Purpose in your heart to daily do something kind to another person, thereby, you will draw God’s blessings upon yourself and family members.

What Purpose Does Anger Have?

Anger has no purpose at all.  The problem with getting angry is that there is only a slim chance that it might solve the problem, but a much greater chance it’ll create new ones.

anger.jpg?width=234

“Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured.”–Mark Twain

Anger is really us losing our self- control, and when we lose self-control, bad things usually happen.

In the home it can mean a damaged relationship.  Whereas, in public, it can mean a confrontation with a stranger.  In the workplace,  it can mean getting fired or skipped over for promotion.

“Anger itself does more harm than the condition that caused it.” –Samaria Maxamus

If you can’t remember that, then try this:  Anger is only 1 step away from danger!

The truth is:  Most of us can look and act pretty foolishly when we’re angry, which usually leads us into saying and doing things we’ll later regret.

anger1.jpg?width=259

“Anger dwells only in the bosom of fools.”–Albert Einstein

“Speak when you are angry and you will make the best speech you will ever regret.”–Ambrose Bierce

Getting angry is a lot like being drunk, the intoxicated person is the only one who doesn’t realize he has a problem.

What makes anger so dangerous is the fact that it can occur so quickly and we've lost control before we even realize it. The only way to minimize the damage is to gain back self-control.

In order for us to be able  begin to diminish our anger,  we will first have to understand what caused the anger in the first place.

There is really only one reason why we get angry and that is because someone didn't act the way we wanted them to, or things didn't go
our way.

Anger is not an action; but how we respond to another’s action.
Getting angry is
letting someone else control you.

When was the last time something good came out of you getting angry?  Can you remember one?

“Whatever is begun in anger ends in shame.”–Benjamin Franklin

If you feel anger rising on the inside of you.  Stop!  Take a breath and answer these three questions:

1.  Is winning this argument really worth ruining the relationship?

2.  How important will this be a year from now?

3.  A month from now? A day or even an hour from now?

The instant you take back your self-control you’ll lose the anger.
Never, ever, allow someone else control how you feel.

Who really suffers when you get anger?

“Holding on to anger is like holding on to a red-hot coal, you’re the only one who’s going to get burned.” –Buddha

Why is it that when we hurt ourselves physically we learn not to do it again, but, when we hurt ourselves emotionally we repeat the same action over and over? No one benefits from anger.

“When anger rises, think of the consequences.”–Confucius

stop-anger.jpg?width=275

The best way to end an argument is to be silent.  It takes two to have an argument.  Be the bigger person. That’s not admitting fault, it’s controlling the anger.  Reinstate your self-control.  Understand that, even if you win the argument, you still won’t be able to enjoy the present if you’re still angry about the past.

“When angry count to ten before you speak. If very angry, count
to one hundred.”–Thomas Jefferson

“For every minute you remain angry, you give up sixty seconds of peace of mind.”–Ralph Waldo Emerson

Remember that Anger Has No Purpose in your life.  The Bible says,
“to be angry, but sin not.”  Yes, we will get angry, but we have self-control.  We have the ability to be slow to speak, which means, think before you speak.  Let go and let God.  Vengeance is mine, says the Lord.  He will repay, we don’t have to.  Our job is to learn from the experience, practice self-control and learn to love even the unlovable, even if it’s from a distance.
