3. Character

Successful Home Business Building will require that you should be know as a person of Integrity and Honor.

Someone coined the phrase, “character is what you do in the dark.” In other words, when no one is looking, will you behave differently than if someone were looking? If not, then you have character. If you are attacked, be tough—not hard. Don’t be a pushover, but be compassionate, gentle, and flexible—especially on procedure (not principle).

4. Risk Taker

You must be willing to take a Risk.  This isn’t gambling, it’s a willingness to be bold, hearty, and to push forward. People who refuse to take risks are definitely going to lose. If you refuse a new promotion because you’re not confident of your skills, you will more than likely be passed over when a different chance arrives.

Don’t be afraid of rejection, just take it as part of life and you’ll find there’s nothing to be afraid of—especially in the word “no.” “No” is just another opportunity to find a way around an obstacle and to use creative problem-solving skills.

5. Time Management

Time is of the essence.  Since we all know that one minute has 60 seconds and that one hour has 60 minutes. One day has 24 hours, and one year has 365 days. But one year also has 525,600 minutes. We don’t think about a year in such small increments, but maybe we should.

It’s imperative that we stop wasting time.  We tend to waste minutes as if they’ll always be around, and the fact is that time wasted is time we can never get back.

Proper time management is essential as you climb to success. Continue to break goals down in to manageable chunks—do that with relation to your day and the time you’ve been given. You’ll accomplish far more this way and you won’t regret using your time wisely.

6. Mastering  Non-Verbal Communication

It has been said that our body language and facial expressions do much more communicating than our words will ever do. When the words that you speak don’t match the expressions on your face or the stance of your body, you confuse the listener and muddle your message.

Becoming successful in home based business tactics will require you to be aware that when you try to “multi-task,” you often end up short-changing something, and the last thing you want is to short-change people. Don’t try to do too much at once—your willingness to do this sends out a message to people  that they aren’t important, even if you’re expressing your appreciation of their work and effort.

7.  Important vs Urgent

Learn to separate your choices.  

This can be done by asking two questions:

1.   What is most important?

2.  What is most urgent?

Know that important choices are those that move you towards your goals.  Urgent choices are those that demand immediate attention.

Always remember that effective people will always direct their efforts towards situations that they can influence, and that are worth influencing.

You see, the more attention and energy you give to the existence of lack, the more “lack” you attract back to yourself.

In order to attract prosperity and abundance into your life,  you must begin by focusing on the opposite end of the spectrum!

a.  Constantly think about and focus on prosperity and abundance into your life.

However, NOT from a place of need, fear or anxiety – but from a place of joy, confidence and optimism that it is already yours.

b. Constantly affirm that you are a natural prosperity magnet, and great abundance flows into your life easily and frequently.

c. Share the wonderful things that happen to you with others.

Rather than complaining about the bad stuff, share the good stuff and encourage the people in your life to do the same.

d. Pay attention to the great abundance that surrounds you at all times.

This includes the material possessions, people and blessings you have in your life, as well as, the expressions of abundance you encounter while out in the world.

Instead of feeling envious of rich and successful people, imagine that the universe has just held up a mirror to let you know that YOU can also be just as rich and successful.

Most importantly, develop the inner “knowing” that you can CHOOSE prosperity and abundance, just as easily as you chose lack and struggle.

Recite this affirmation several times a day:

“I KNOW I am a powerful creator in my own right, and I CHOOSE the harmonious flow of prosperity and abundance NOW.”

When you first start saying it, you’ll probably feel as if you’re lying. That’s because deep down inside, you really don’t “know” any such thing. But keep at it. Keep saying the affirmation with strength and power and conviction in your voice, and you really will start to believe it.

Inner-peace refers to a state of being mentally and spiritually at peace, with enough knowledge and understanding to keep oneself strong in the face of discord or stress.

Being “at peace” is considered by many to be healthy and the opposite of being stressed or anxious. [Wikipedia]

One of the first steps in finding inner-peace is to think carefully about your goals. What are you trying to achieve, and what are you doing that will take you there?

Can you realistically reach your goals, or are you setting goals that are far beyond your reach? Do you even have any goals?

By putting your priorities in order, you will be on the path to inner peace because only chaos can result from clutter and disorganization of the mind. You can begin by setting small goals which can be easily achieved. Then, instead of focusing on failure, you will be able to see the good job you’ve done in reaching your goal.

If you fail to reach a goal, use this situation to learn how to do better next time. Don’t wallow in your failure use it as a stepping stone to achieving success.

When you feel good about yourself, you will have an easier time finding peace of mind. Peace is essential for happiness. If you constantly feel sad, you are living under a great weight that brings you down to a point where you could sink into a permanent state of self-pity.

Self-pity only encourages negative thinking. Remember, you are not the only person facing rejection or hurt in life. There are other people much worse off than you are.

People with negative thinking miss out on inner peace because they let every little setback throw them off track. They criticize themselves for no real reason and go down a road that only leads to misery.

There are people who have pessimistic attitudes who tend to go through their lives fighting their thoughts and emotions every day. If they are rejected for a job position, they take it personally and feel that they are not good enough to have any job.

Pessimist can also start to think that everyone believes they are stupid, and the cycle of pessimism traps them into psychological immobility, not realizing that everyone experiences rejection at some time during their lives, but when your mind focuses on the negative aspects of a situation, it is hard to find inner peace.

At times, hearing the word ‘no’ is a good thing. Even if you’ve lost out on a job, maybe that was for the best.

We need to learn to turn our rejections into positive actions. Taking action can lead you to inner-peace because activity makes you feel more positive about a situation.

Positive attitudes result in peaceful states of mind.  You can train your mind to think more positively. It will take work and effort, but  be assured this will lead you to inner peace, and this will be worthwhile.

There are literally thousands of people who go online to make money,  but most of them will fail miserably because they either truly believe one of the Network Marketing “Myths” or all of them. 

Here are Six Network Marketing Myths to be Considered or Not:

Myth #1: Network Marketing is EASY!

This amazingly enough is probably one of the biggest myths of all!  Reason being, is that Network Marketing can indeed be hard, take time and effort,  not to mention money.  Anyone who suggests otherwise is probably trying to sell you a bunch of horse hockey.

It’s true that Network Marketing is comparatively easier than any brick and mortar business, because’s usually there’s no inventory to carry, no shipping of goods no sales staff and virtually no overhead, but a lot of work is still necessary.

Myth #2: ANYBODY Can Make Money Online!

Not so, this is simply not true. Unless someone is willing to remove their tail end or hind side from their recliner and find, download, and read everything they can about Network Marketing and then put a action plan in motion, it’s guaranteed that they will never make a dime on the internet period.  ”DO NOTHING, MAKE NOTHING!”

Myth #3: It’s Possible to “GET RICH QUICK” On the Net!

This is the trap that a lot of newbie internet marketers falls into including myself when I first started.

Why?   Because scammers make it sound so easy and let me tell you, chasing “get rich quick schemes” or “shiny object syndrome is a WASTE OF TIME, Money and Energy. It just won’t happen overnight.  Therefore, you need to do some research and find out what people really want and need;  then give it to them.

Myth #4: It’s FREE to Do Business Online

This happens to be one of my favorite myths because I believed it too during my first year of Network Marketing, and also had to find out the hard and costly way that this was most definitely a falsity, or better yet, a lie.

It is true that Network Marketing business start up cost and maintenance cost is pretty low. Once you have your domain set up, you only pay for internet connection, advertising and ongoing education. You can’t expect to make money selling free stuff and ask others to do the same. Realize this Folks! It will cost you money or time, sometimes both to
make money.

Myth #5: It’s TOO LATE to Start a Network Marketing Business!

Most internet marketers would love to hear people say “It’s too late now, there’s way too much competition, maybe I should just pack my bags and go home, the internet is too complicated, etc…”.

You know why? The less people they have to compete with, the better they feel are their chance for making more money.

The fact is:

It is never ever too late to start anything and that includes a Network Marketing Business. I firmly believe that the internet is not going anywhere and you should too. Each year there are stats which will show you the number of people shopping online is at a constant increase.  More and more people are doing all of the shopping online and looking for ways to start a business.

Myth #6: The BIG Money Talk is JUST MORE HYPE!

As I’ve mentioned before, “it takes money to make money?”  Well it’s true, although you will be hard pressed to find experienced Network Marketers who are willing  to tell you just how much they spend on promoting and advertising. Sometimes, you have to dig a little deeper in order to separate the truth out of all of the hype you read or hear.

Truth:  It is a fact that the people that make alot of money online,  also spend alot of money on advertising, tools, resources, education and have learned how to get the job done.

The good news:  If you are willing to take the necessary actions  to make ‘big money’ happen for you – it will.   It will take time because there is a learning curve that you will have to pass through.

At the same time, if you are critical or skeptical, you can be sure that ‘big money’ can’t happen for you – and it won’t.

If you believe that you will succeed you’re right, if you believe that it won’t work, you’re right also.

To succeed in Network Marketing and not be concerned about the “myths” is to get an experienced Mentor,   apply a bit of common sense into it, find what you love to do, have a game plan, stay focused and you, my friend might find the right opportunity to make all your dreams come true.

When determining your Mission Statement make sure that it translates your “Vision” into Words.  

Your Mission Statement should explain why you are here and what you propose to do with your life.  It should be brief and kept simple and expressed in the present tense. Describe your Vision as if you’ve already achieved it.

A Personal Mission Statement will help you to organize your entire life — your time, your thoughts, your priorities. Actually, a personal mission statement, conscientiously developed, will change the way you view everything in your life.

Your personal mission statement will force you to constantly re-evaluate who you are, what you’re about, and what you’re doing.

Example:  The Constitution of the United States.

The essential mission statement there is “…to create a more perfect union.”

Where would we be as a nation today if they had not outlined the goals and hopes of a new nation in those terms?

The basics of a mission statement are as follows:

1. Keep it brief and to the point.

Nelson Mandela’s mission statement, developed over his 27 years in prison in South Africa, says just this:

“End Apartheid.”

Another great mission statement was developed by Abraham Lincoln upon his inauguration as President.

“Preserve the Union.”

Note that mission statements can change. Perhaps a mission is accomplished.

Franklin Roosevelt started his presidency with a mission to:

“End the Depression.”

By the time that was almost done another threat had arisen and the United States had become involved in World War II. Now the mission statement was:

“End the War.”

2. KISS.  Keep your mission statement  simple.

Make sure that even a 12-year-old would be able to understand the statement.

3. Make it memorable so it can be seared into your consciousness.

The rule of thumb here is that if you can’t recite it from memory, it’s too long and too complicated.

4.  Go public with it.

Your vision gains power when you go public with it.  When you put your commitment on record, you’re giving yourself an extra incentive to succeed.

If your Mission Statement calls you to be a “CEO”, then you should state it like you’ve already arrived.  ”I am the President of a Digital Software Company and my office is located in San Diego, CA overlooking the Ocean.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that your job IS your mission. It’s only part of it…or not.

Either way, remember that a mission is larger than a job. Your job may change, but your mission may not. In fact, there are times that a job MUST change in order that a mission be completed. So don’t lock yourself in a box that says that you ARE your work. You’re far more than that.

Finally, clear out the negative  influences that have driven you in the past.

A mission statement isn’t about what you think you should be doing. It’s about what “EXCITES” you. So instead of listening to all those voices from the past…the ones that told you you weren’t worth anything, that you’d never succeed, and so forth. Concentrate on your gifts and follow after  your dreams.

Make yourself a copy of your Mission Statement and display it in a prominent place where it will be a constant reminder for you, your family and your associates as to the commitment you have made.  By doing this your subconscious mind will adopt to the vision you’ve created and will constantly direct your behavior toward the achievement of it.

You will have to learn to feed the right emotions and starve the negative emotions.  It is possible for both “faith and fear” to rise within you at the same time.  It’s up to you to determine which one to follow.

Obviously, the one I “feed” will Dominate.

If you desire to expand and grow you must be willing to take a risk.  You must be willing to make mistakes.  In order to reach your potential in life you must be willing to take various chances.

HOW TO WORRY SCIENTIFICALLY

5.   Never worry in bed, in the dining room, living room, or when serving God.

       Lean back in an easy chair.

       If you must go beyond it, give yourself credit for time-and-a-half.

       Smile, sing, or whistle while worrying.

9.   Never worry when you are tired, sick, angry, or depressed.

Realize that every problem in life has a solution.  Problems exist because these problems are indications that there is a necessity to improve on everything that people think about or do.

Allow faith to be backed by action, then new ideas will appear to help you improve on whatever it is you are doing.

It’s a fact that any constant effort provided in the right direction will ultimately produce good results.  This is also why the correct type of practice leads to perfection.  You’ve heard the saying:  ”Practice makes Perfect.”

Keep learning, keep growing, keep producing.

Everything that you truly desire in life, can be accomplished when you truly believe that it can be done.  It’s a truth that if you desire  and ask for what is right and proper you will receive what you desire at the appropriate time and in the appropriate manner.

Having A New Year’s Resolution is like establishing  ”objectives” for successful change.

Any type of change will always cost you something, if it isn't monetary, it will be in time, energy and creativity.

The truth is this:

From time to time we must evaluate our past behavior and take time to remove the “Sucker-Shoots!”

Sucker-Shoots are tiny offshoots which will literally drain and disable the “vine” so that it no longer produces fruit – only leaves.  These shoots are a slow downward spiral based on the wrong choices we’ve made.  If you ignore them and let them continue to grow, in time they will drain or disable you from being Christ centered with the will to do good.  In fact, you will lose all sensitivity to wrong altogether.

Insensitivity to “Sucker-Shoots” will place in your life:

a.  Insensitivity to the needs of others

b.  Your drive for success at the expense of your family, as well as spiritual well being

c.   Laziness and lack of personal discipline

d.  Insecurity

It’s a great value that the Creator is determined to remove “Sucker-Shoots.”  He is committed to this purpose and there is nothing which we can do to dissuade Him!  He is relentless and never runs of out creative ideas for destroying them.

Sadly, Christmas Is Not A Jolly Time of Year For Folks With Seasonal Affective Disorder.

As the days grow shorter and the nights get longer, the cold dark days of winter can become depressing. Less sunlight and colder temperatures cause many people to feel a sense of gloom, even if they don’t quite understand why. This change of moods is often referred to as SAD — an acronym for Seasonal Affective Disorder.

According to the doctor who coined the term, depression during the winter months makes medical sense. It is brought on by various changes that take place in the body’s mood center. The doctor, Norman Rosenthal, explains that this seasonal mood disorder often causes people to feel lonely and desolate. Of course it is true that many people tend to be grumpier during the long, winter months, and unfortunately, I too, know a few of them. So if you suffer from seasonal affective disorder, you may find it somewhat consoling to know you are not alone.

According to different scientific studies, there are about half a million people in the UK alone that suffer from some degree of winter depression. Other studies indicate that more than 2,000,000 Swedish citizens, where the nights are longer and colder, are affected each winter!

Studies indicate that the number of people affected by SAD dramatically increases the further north (or south in the Southern Hemisphere) you go. People in tropical countries rarely suffer from this disorder. If the symptoms of SAD persist, therefore, some people have found it necessary to actually move to a warmer, brighter climate.

Can seasonal affective disorder be treated? Some studies have found that light therapy has proven successful in more than 75% of the sufferers who tried it. While it sounds simple, simply having an adequate amount of light around you seems to brighten up the spirits!

However, a simple light bulb in a desk lamp may not be enough to do the trick. In fact the light may have to be five to ten times greater than that to be effective. Even that comes no where near comparing to the light from the sun that we enjoy on warm spring and summer days. Light boxes specifically designed to emit greater amounts of light have been instrumental in helping people overcome SAD. By sitting in front of the light box for a half hour or longer each day has helped many people, depending upon the severity of their condition.

So far, light treatment has proven to be about the best treatment for victims of SAD. It must be noted, however, that some with severe cases have also required anti-depressants and even sessions of psychotherapy.

Besides light, there are other stimuli that may help people suffering with SAD. For instance, watching films that take place in sunny locales may be of help. Generally any film that has you under clear, blue skies and a bright sun for two hours or more should qualify.

In addition, some people have been helped by watching warm weather sports on television. Watching sports played out of doors in the sunshine, such as golf or tennis, may be very helpful. On the other hand, constant exposure to indoor activities such as darts, billiards or bowling may actually prove harmful if you are suffering with seasonal affective disorder.
