Last week’s Inauguration ceremony was absolutely refreshing!!! It was a day filled with promise and hope. I, filled with pride, tearfully watched as the FIRST woman, who happens to also be the FIRST African-American, was sworn in as Vice President of these United States. It was a day filled with FIRSTS. From the thoughtfulness of hosting the FIRST Grief ceremony acknowledging those who lost their lives lost to Covid-19 to the inspirational poem led by the FIRST 22-year-old African-American youth poet laureate, the inaugural events and activities were filled with hope. It was absolutely refreshing to see such diversity and harmony. It was absolutely refreshing to hear words of encouragement and of hope.
