Why Do I Want to Start an Online Business?

The answer to that question is what will fuel your efforts in pursuing your goals online.  How are you going to do it?  Ebay, Amazon, affiliate programs, sell your own products or blog for income?  Will you concentrate on one, or two avenues?

Are you ready?  Do you believe you have the character to be successful on the internet?

When you consider these questions, you may begin to feel a bit overwhelmed at first.  But, you will be fine.  All you need to to is take the first step.

!.  Answer the question WHY?  The answer is important to you.  You don't need to share it with anyone unless you want to.  But, you need to keep your WHY foremost in your mind all day every day.  You need to believe in your WHY and that you will get there successfully.  Take in as much inspirational, motivational and positive character building information as you can get -- daily.  Most importantly, be grateful.

2.  Look for an avenue that suits you.  It must allow you to grow at your pace.  It must benefit you.  You must believe in your avenue also.  If it works for you, you won't have any trouble advertising your avenue.  How do you feel about talking to your friends and family?  Do you want to invest in something that will grow without much input from you?  Do you like making videos and talking to whoever will listen?   I would caution you to keep your business and personal profiles on FaceBook separate.

3.  Decide - choose one.  My first was a way to build interest with a free gift of $10.  That was my start in the online business arena.  I just had to make three clicks a day to earn 2% interest.  Once you have chosen an avenue, you will have a link to it.  You will have an affiliate link, or your link to your Ebay store or your Amazon offers or your website.  You will have an address that you need to advertise to get people to your business.  Knowing what you need to do in order to garner the most income from your choice is key to how well you will do at your venture and how fast you will generate the amount of income you desire.

4.  Network and associate with, listen to, and watch the people who have done what you want to do for at least 3 years.  They are your classroom on steroids.  It is not that you want to be just like them, it's that you want to learn.  You will take in what you can use and discard the rest or file it away for later.  When you start watching and listening you must remember that there are millions of programs to  be joined.  Some are free, Lots of them cost.  You must learn how to say 'no' without making an enemy for life.  You cannot join all of them.  You must chose where your energy and advertising dollars are going.  It doesn't cost you anything to endorse someone or their product but you must remember that endorsing anyone or anything online is going to be part of your brand, too.  Be careful in your endorsements and your 'likes'.  Join social sites -- as many as possible.  Take part in forums.  Research 'words that sell', and 'words that influence' to use in your ads which you will post on as many free sites as possible.  Just do a search of 'free advertising sites' that offer nation wide or global reach.

5.  Be a great sponsor.    A sponsor more than likely brought you into a program If you have chosen a venture where you will be sponsoring others, leadership qualities are a must to be developed.  You see that these steps are interrelated, don't you?  I've listened to many CD's, videos and seminars.  No matter what they say, it is very hard to have a 1, do this, 2, do that, 3, do the other step by step road map to success because there are somethings that must be done at the same time as other, or you may need to backup and make readjustments.

I suggest that you investigate 'passive' ways and means of generating online income, think those over and start with one.  While you are building your character and learning to network you can begin to earn.  Unless you can invest a large amount of money, your earnings will be small, but they will be steady.  What is more helpful in building self confidence than successes whether they be huge or small and steady?

Till next time, be well and happy.

Excellent post Bessie. It is very important to have your WHY because without it you will quit if it's not a 99.9% strong WHY. Your why is critical for you to keep in your mind at all times, as you brought out in your post. I am sharing this out to the universe for more to read. Nice to meet you and glad you are here. Blessings and much success to you.
