Why Is Affiliate Marketing Impossible?

Why is
Affiliate Marketing IMPOSSIBLE?!!

Of course, affiliate marketing is not impossible, but it can certainly seem that way.  I struggled for a whole year and I believe that most people struggle until they quit.

It is sad but true.  97% of aspiring affiliate marketers fail at affiliate marketing.

But wait!

Did you know that a 97% failure rate or a 3% success rate applies to almost every kind of business venture and most other ventures as well.

What I have discovered is that for whatever we attempt to do, we usually have the ability to succeed.

My secret to affiliate marketing was a kind of bull headed stubborness!

I did not simply think it worked, or believe it worked, I KNEW it worked.  The problem was not with affiliate marketing, it was with me. I simply did not have a clue.

But I persisted!

Slowly...OH So SLOWLY...I learned what worked and what did not work.

One of the SECRETS that I discovered is that you get out what you put in, but for me, it did not seem that way.

In other words, I was learning and growing, but my results did not show it. I know that a few of you are as stubborn as me, but I believe that many of you will not see any obvious results, such as I did (or did not), and jump to the wrong conclusion.

In addition, you have probably been sold on the fact that you need this and you need that...so if you are like I was, you are making almost no money in spite of what you were promised, and you may be bleeding money due to all the incidentals that you need for your affiliate marketing business. I will talk more about this shortly.

Jumping To The Wrong Conclusion!

If your affiliate marketing journey resembles mine, your affiliate marketing DREAM has turned into a Nightmare.  Overnight riches have turned into a substantial monthly cost with little to no income.

Our WRONG Conclusion is that affiliate marketing does not work.  And soon we do the most horrible four-letter thing...QUIT.

I do not want that for you.  Although I cannot legally make any guarantees, I sincerely believe that the only way to fail at affiliate marketing is to quit.

I have also discovered that you do NOT have to spend money as a new aspiring affiliate.  In fact, it is not good business to spend money that your business does not have.  I may be making a lot of Internet Marketing Gurus angry because they want to 'sell you' all the stuff you need to be an affiliate marketer, but there is a free version of whatever you need to get started.  Most free versions are just as good as paid, and you are not bleeding money.
In fact, when you do make a sale, it is not about the income, it is the motivation and the reassurance that affiliate marketing does work.
The idea is that you stay in the game, you do not quit, you learn, you grow, and you get to enjoy all the perks of working from your home as an affiliate marketer.

I run a business that is generally a brick and motar business from home. Although I have paid tools, I find many of the free ones George shares are free versions of what I pay for. Online marketing does work. Where George has been at it for 20 years I have been at it for 12. At first I made every mistake in the book, and a few I never found in any book. Online money doesn' talk, real value for your customers does. You can create enough value without breaking the bank.

I know that every mistake brings us closer to success, but I have never made more mistakes than I have made in online marketing, unfortunately. I began when resources and training were minimal and expensive.  I, too, have many paid tools, and as you say, the free versions are usually outstanding and can enable newbies to have the tools they need at no cost.  Thank you, Dennis.

My belief looking back is the mistakes I consider the worst to be with the online business. As for the tools many don't need a paid version at the start. What they offer free generally does a good enough job. It isn't until your customers want more that it pays to upgrade. The ability to upgrade generally is still there when you need it.

You hit it on the head George (as always) when you quote the figure of all business start-up failure as being the same as internet marketing start-up failure. The fact is that only that small 2 to 3% have it in them to persevere and make a business, any business, work. Understand that and determine to be one of the determined few and you're well begun. The second step in internet marketing is to get on board with George. You don't need to be a business super brain to see that he (a) Knowns his onions (b) Is all out to help you and (c) Takes the free and low-cost ways to reach your goals. That last named is what real entrepreneurs excel at - we find the routes to success which demand the least effort and yield the greatest rewards.

I like your second step!  You are right about entrepreneurs finding or creating routes to success, routes that are direct and require less effort, and offer more reward.  Thank you, Tom/

You nailed it.  I will soon share a few second-level marketing routes to success that always surprise me in a very good way.  You are right, these take less effort and yield an excellent return.  I was averaging 6 visits at once during setup, with no content (all totally free).  I hope I can present it so that it is understandable and duplicatable.  Thanks, Tom.

I'm confident you will do just that George. I believe you always do so in your videos and press releases time and time again.

I can multitask, but I am better at mistakes.  I accidentally deleted your other comment about losing your money agenda, and could not find a way to restore it.  When I look back, I had a money agenda, I am sure I came across as needy, and I was not a giver, in addition, I did not have a clue.  Somehow we figure it out or we quit,  Thanks, Terri.  I am still figuring it out, and I am glad that I have not quit.
