Social Media Marketing
Social Media Marketing and its Advantages
Social Media Can Improve Your SEO
Social media can actually help your organic search presence just like inbound links are a “vote” for your website – and as such, Google’s crawlers love websites that have lots of inbound links. If you think about it, the more people that love your content, then the more Google will want to return those results in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages). Therefore investing in a social media strategy can actually get you a little SEO bang for your social media investment.
If you are doing guest blogging for inbound links then that lets you build a few good relationships, but social media lets you build hundreds of relationships. By maintaining an active social media presence, you are going to build long and friendly conversations with all of your followers. While you are doing that your social reach extends even more as their network sees you keep popping up in their feeds. When you are talking with your followers one-to-one like you do on social media, you can then provide a serious personal service that other marketing channels struggle to match.
If you decide to invest in social media, then it is quite simple to gradually grow your presence across more than one network, because you can easily re-purpose the content you share from network to network. So while you will rewrite the copy you use in a tweet versus a Facebook update, you can still link to the same great offers, blog content and visual content to grow your following across several networks without multiplying your required content creation resources.
The more targeted networks will mean more customers for you. Social media gives you the opportunity to be extremely targeted if you have figured out what network works best for your business. A good example is Linkedin which is an extraordinary performer for B2B (business to business) businesses. Note that 65% of B2B businesses have acquired a customer on Linkedin.
The B2B on Twitter is only 40% and Facebook 43%. You can then prioritize how much time you spend on each network. But then again on the other hand Facebook drives the most conversions for B2C (business to customer) where 77% of companies have acquired a customer. It is then followed by Twitter, where 55% of B2C businesses have acquired a customer. Lastly trailing is Linkedin, where 51% have acquired a customer.
Social media is powered by user-generated content which is critical for driving sales to your business. If you have the time it is a great idea to blog daily, whether it is about your business, your family, your pets or it might be something of great interest in the news. If you blog about your family and pets then people will realise you are a real person and will want to get to know you which could lead to a customer or someone becoming one of your team members.
