As internet marketers it is critical for us to get traffic to our business website, without it you have no business or sales.

NO sales means NO income.

YOU are out of business real fast.

This is why you pay for advertising to get traffic to your business website. What's happening now, there are sites that use bot software or bot clicks to make it appear as if you are getting traffic to your site. In other words you think that real people are clicking and going to your site.

Here's an article that will explain how it's costing people BIG MONEY and their business.

That's why it is wise to use an ad tracker to track hits/clicks to your link.

Thank you Angela for sharing your thoughts with me and I agree it is a sin and a shame. As the saying goes "What you do in the dark shall come to the light." The article is very informative and I wanted to share it with everyone here.

As they say, "This is a sin and a shame," but unfortunately there are many illegal things going on online and we need to be more aware of where we're putting our money.  Thanks for sharing this very important information with us Terri regarding "fake clicks".  Sometimes we take things for granted because we have a blind faith in people and organizations.  Sharing for more to see.

Paul thank you for sharing your thoughts on this discussion. As internet marketers we must keep up with what's happening on the internet. I ran across this article and decided to share it here with my friends.

Yes I agree it is important to know about bots, Personally I won't advertise in a place that is not popular and user friendly, the real trouble here is how do you know if your clicks are from genuine people viewing your site or an ad robot. I think that tracking could be a way to keep a check, however I think the biggest problem is with the hackers and not the site owners. Again with all that said I just stick to reputable advertising resources that have a good volume of traffic because of popularity.

This is a real serious problem Merle and you should be tracking your ad campaigns everywhere, even sites like IBO. I don't want people to be ripped off because they don't know about fake clicks and it is happening on the internet as I am typing this.
