What Does the Bible Say About Christmas?

The Bible’s answer

The Bible does not give the date of Jesus’ birth, nor does it say that we should celebrate his birthday. As McClintock and Strong’s Cyclopedia states: “The observance of Christmas is not of divine appointment, nor is it of NT [New Testament] origin.”

Instead, an examination of the history of Christmas exposes its roots in pagan religious rites. The Bible shows that we offend God if we try to worship him in a way that he does not approve of.—Exodus 32:5-7.

Christmas is such an 'observed' event, but that is man's doing.  Thanks, Terri.

I have heard many theories about when Jesus was born. Some say the spring and some say the fall.  I want to carry him in my heart every day.

So do I and this is what I do each day. There are no theories in the Bible, because it's the words of God for us to live a righteous life with peace and security. When you study the Bible and get the truth, then you will know the truth. Thank you for sharing your thoughts today in this discussion.

You are most welcome and I hope you have had a nice Christmas. I have always been a believer but I finally went and got water Baptised a few months ago so I am now really getting into The Word and studying the Bible.  I am enjoying it immensely.

So my question is, are you studying with Jehovah's Witnesses? If yes that's great to hear and keep on studying so you will learn Bible truths. So many people are not. They don't realize this old systems of things is in the last day. Would it be okay If I shared this Bible truth with you. See it here.

Millions celebrate on December 25. Is that really the birth of Jesus Christ, and does he care whether Christians follow those customs or not?
