Hawaii is amazing. If you have ever been there, you probably had a spiritual experience along with the way that all of your senses were excited - tastes, smells, sights, and sounds. Each island has different experiences to offer. This is just a taste, to relax and please you for a few minutes!

from http://www.ameliaearhart.com/

I watched the first episode of the Travel Channel's new show, Expedition Unknown.  It is a 2 hour special on the search for Amelia Earhart's plane and her remains.

I won't spoil the story in case you are going to watch it.  I highly recommend it.  The host, Josh Gates is likeable and easy to watch.

I do like almost everything that the Travel Channel does.

This show takes us to Papua New Guinea and Fiji, among other lesser known locations to search for clues.  He does a good job sharing the cultural aspects of each stop with us, too.

Amelia Earhart was such an important historical woman, aviator, and icon.  He tells her story quite well.

I was a teacher, but I don't remember everything I ever learned!
So many spelling and grammar mistakes glare at me when I read other people's posts and articles, and even comments online.
Once in a while, I do a post to help people.  I am not sure that the people read it who are having the problems!  LOL
Anyway, I thought that I would help with a few online resources.
I hope that you find them helpful, and will pass them to people that you know that could use some assistance.

Frank Sinatra's 100th Birthday!

Frank%20Sinatra.jpg?itok=DtTtvsLR&width=400

photo from http://www.lifetimetv.co.uk/sites/default/files/assets/landscape/Frank%20Sinatra.jpg?itok=DtTtvsLR

My parents’ generation loved Frank Sinatra.  He was the one that brought romance to an evening for everyone.

Time is going by, and the more things change – the more they stay the same!

My husband and I are so used to listening to the Easy Listening station now because of my parents, so it doesn’t bug us anymore!  We are also getting used to the old movies on the channels like TCM.

Well, we are getting closer to 60, so we are not into the contemporary music as much anymore.  Still love music from the 70’s and 80’s!

Space — the final frontier!

I wanted to share some of NASA’s great images from their recent missions.  Space is always cool – in real life, and in science fiction (good ones!).

There is always something new on NASA’s sites, and there is plenty more to share in future posts.

Hope you enjoy.

You may ask, why don't I just write about business and promote myself and my programs?  Why don't I use the posts on my blog and other places as constant advertising?

There are a few reasons:

1.  I love to write.  I love to learn.  I love to research just about anything.  It is fun to put together posts that people might actually want to read!

2.  It is boring to only push business to people.  That doesn't attract them, and certainly doesn't help with relationships.  Social media is all about relationships, and so am I.

3.  If someone likes my posts, they can always see the marketing info that I include on the bottom of my posts.  They are more likely to look favorably on our business if they like the approach of the post.

4.  So, if I have fun writing the posts, and you are interested in reading them, I am happy.

5.  If you are interested in learning about our business opportunities online, you can get in touch and ask questions.  We love to help you!  We offer free support and training to anyone who signs up with a program under us.

I just watched the movie "The Birdman of Alcatraz" on TCM.  I had never seen it before.  Burt Lancaster played Robert Stroud, and it was released in 1962.

The commentary after the movie told us that the real Robert Stroud was not as nice as the character in the movie.

from the trivia page of TCM:
  • Stroud was actually imprisoned in cell #42 located in the D Block. According to Frank Heaney, a former prison guard (1948-51), Stroud was anything but the sympathetic character as portrayed by Burt Lancaster. He was an extremely difficult and demented inmate who, though highly intelligent, was a villain and a psychopath.
  • After the film's release, many letters were written pleading for Robert Stroud's release. Despite his sympathetic portrayal by Burt Lancaster, Stroud was a conniving and volatile sociopath who killed two people in prison (one a guard he stabbed in full view of the Leavenworth cafeteria), stabbed an orderly who snitched on his escape plan, wrote child pornography and (as an old man at a parole hearing) said that he "had a lot of people left to kill and I don't have much time to do it."

Even so, the movie was so interesting.  Of course it stirred my interest is the history of his story.  He was brilliant.
Thank you!

Why should we care about Elephants?

EF-DS-IMG_2529-590x393.jpg?width=400

I am not a wildlife expert, nor am I up to date on all the facts and figures about the danger to elephants.
I am an animal lover, and care very much about the state of animals around the world.
There is an abundance of crimes going on against nature, and elephants are one of the stories that matter.

Thanks!

Well, what will be fresh new energy for you to start the New Year?

Choose a few things to change, maybe one or two things in a few categories.

Can you do one new thing a day to improve your health?  Drink more water, take a walk, get more fresh air and sunshine?  There are a lot of great choices that will help you to be healthier.

What would improve an important relationship in your life?  Having a breakfast date with one of your children?  Going to a park to connect with your family and with nature?

and more on the blog post.....

Tonight "Amadeus" from 1984 is on and I am enjoying it.  There are so many great movies, shows, and concerts for the holidays.

Last night we saw the "Christmas in Washington" concert.  It was beautiful and inspirational.  The Obama family was wonderful and gracious.  The Rock - Dwayne Johnson, was the host.  The only singer that we knew was Darius Rucker, but at least we had heard the name Rita Ora before!

So many other great movies and shows have been playing all week, and are planned for next week.  I am really enjoying the holiday shows on the Travel Channel and The Food Network.

Check out my new blog post about Cookie Season!!

https://earnmoremoneymoney.wordpress.com/2014/12/09/cookie-season/

I wanted to share the spirit of the season with some American and International recipes.  The Food Network is a great place to find traditional as well as unusual versions of food that you love.  It is also a place to find things that are completely new – created by amazing chefs.

Some communities have Cookie exchanges, so that each person can have a variety of cookies for their home without having to bake a lot of different cookies.
