6 Top Tips To Create Compelling Content

Six More  Tips To Follow Tomorrow

By creating successful and valuable content makes the reader compelled to take action – either by calling you, sending an email or buying your product or service.

If you are trying to sell in your content then your readers will think you are just pitching them and it probably won’t work.  As I read somewhere it would be more repelling than compelling content …….

You need to think of your customer and what it is that they want to know and how you can attract them to you by delivering the information.

 1.  Don’t Pitch To Try And Sell

Think about it, if you are suddenly faced with someone pushing their product in front of you as a first time reader of their blog, you are likely to run a mile !!!  REMEMBER – it is about them and not you.  A potential customer doesn’t really care what you do or how you do it.  Their only concern is how can you help them.  You know yourself if you are blogging, posting on social media sites or email marketing then it is quite obvious you are hoping for business.  We all are but we don’t want to make it so obvious.  If you have any testimonials then include them on your blog so that others can sing your praises …

 2.   Never Be Boring

boring

You might be thinking that other people may find your business opportunity is rather boring and that they don’t want to hear about it.  But if you turn it into a story about how you can help them and how it has helped you then they will start to see you as an expert.  Write a list describing the problems you have had and problems that you may have solved with some helpful tips and advice for potential cusomers.

 3.  Write Helpful, Valuable and Relevant Content

Write compelling and valuable content that will be of interest to your potential customers.  Think about all the articles you read and the blogs that you follow.  Or perhaps it is the videos you watch.  If they are entertaining and you find them compelling reading – maybe they teach you about how you can take your business to the next level.  You are going to carry on reading and following them.  Therefore take that approach with your own content.   Answer questions, talk about problems you most often solve and then when you start helping and solving your readers problems they will appreciate it and will then leave comments and share your content, possible leading to some new business.

 4.  You Need An Attention Grabbing Headline

How often do you look at a heading or a subject line in an email and think to youself  ‘that is rubbish’?  If a headline doesn’t grab my attention I will very rarely check it out.  You need to get creative with your headlines otherwise you are probably wasting your time.

5.  Readers Like to See Images and Videos

Why is it that many of the social media sites like Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, YouTube etc are so popular?  People love to see images and videos as they convey the message much faster than words.  So break up your content with good images or make a short video – people are more like to stay on your page if they see these things.

6.   Get to Know Your Audience

target audience

Before you start creating your content you’ll need to know who is going to be looking for your content and where.  It is a good idea to make a list describing the type of market they are in, how they get their content, what product or service they provide and then find out what are their needs.  What questions do they ask and then how your offer would be able to be of benefit to them and the most important thing, are they going to be potential customers for what you have to offer.
