Recently I've been renovating a shed which I took apart to move not too long ago. There are termites here, and they love to eat on wood, and other soft objects. In order to keep the termites away, I decided to paint the 2x4s which will be used on the base. One of these boards is quite badly warped, and at first I almost opted out of using it. But I got to thinking, once there is weight from the shed on top of it, it will eventually straighten itself out.
I'd like to use this illustration in comparison to our human frailties. Often times we go off on a tangent, we lose perspective, we get side tracked, and before we know it, we become lost in cyberspace, and totally forget what the project was we were working on to begin with, thus we become warped, and we don't have anything to share to bring someone hope.
This morning, I'd like to bring a couple texts to mind, that will help keep us and our minds from getting warped. The first one is found in Proverbs 16:3 Which in essence says that when we commit our plans and decisions to the Lord, He will bless us and show us the way. This text is one of my favorites, and I try to keep it foremost in my mind every day, and it's found in Isaiah 26:3 and this one says that when we keep our eyes focused on Jesus, He will give us perfect peace in our hearts, because we know we can trust in Him because of the sacrifice He made for us.
Have a Blessed Day,
-James

Thank you for your post Meredith. I look forward to seeing more posts from you also. Have a super weekend. -James
With your sense of awareness, I bet God has been showing you much in how to apply the ancient words of the Bible to our modern times. Thank you for the illustration. It's true, we're on a "bent" towards unrighteousness due to original sin. Blessings to you and yours, James.
Thank you Terri & Sonia, your comments are appreciated. Enjoy your Monday :)
James, I am not a religious person but the message you are portraying is loud and clear. A great reminder to us all. Commitment and focus can only end in pleasure and joy :)
James I love the scriptures you shared in this post and what you wrote. Shared via Syndication Automation and Google plus.
