After becoming only the fifth team Fifa coins

Spartans coach Mark Dantonio couldn't have been happy with how his team played against struggling Purdue on Saturday. The Spartans surrendered two touchdowns in the fourth quarter and didn't put the Boilermakers away for good until Darien Harris returned an interception 15 yards for a touchdown with 1:22 to go in a 45-31 victory. The Spartans will be heavy favorites in Saturday's game at Indiana.

After becoming only the fifth team Fifa coins in college football history to win three consecutive games against top-10 opponents (I know, LSU should have never been in the top 10), the Bulldogs can finally take a deep breath and celebrate.

They're ranked No. 1 in The Associated Press Top 25 poll, becoming the first team to go from unranked to No. 1 in five weeks in the 78-year history of the poll. The Bulldogs play at Kentucky on Oct. 25.

The Fighting Irish's 50-43 victory over North Carolina on Saturday wasn't the kind of performance you wanted before playing the defending national champion. The Irish defense allowed 510 yards of offense against the Tar Heels, www.fifa14cup.com who went 9-for-17 on third down. Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson turned the ball over three times, giving him nine in the past three games. If the Irish don't play better against FSU, it might get ugly.
