3 Common Mistakes By Sean Rasmussen
Sometimes, beginning bloggers feel they don’t yet have a reputation to stand behind, so it’s not yet possible to post about topics that are valuable to a reader base.
Actually, your very first post can be one that’s packed with value, especially if you stick to writing things you’re passionate about, or have unique experience with.
If you’re focusing on a particular industry, offer readers your perspective, and perhaps include a few links to related resources. Also, don’t forget how posts that provide solutions to problems are also perpetually popular.
Think about topics within your niche and the challenges you’ve encountered through the years. You’ll likely see there are plenty of things to talk about, so you’re not just posting consistently, but also providing information readers truly want to see.
Having a comments of your blog is an excellent way to discover whether readers are on board with your topic angles, or if it’s time to make an adjustment. If you have time to manage it, you can even set the comments section up so you moderate everything before it goes live.
Beyond that, don’t just accept the comments and never respond back to them. Failing to engage with your readers shows a lack of courtesy. Simply thanking readers is a good step to take, but ideally, try to respond in ways that keep the conversation going within the comments field. Doing that will start to build a vibrant community within your blog, and it doesn’t take a lot of time on your behalf.
The blog title is a relatively small part of the overall content, but that doesn’t mean it’s not extremely important. A catchy title could make the difference between a person ultimately deciding to click on a post and read the entire thing, or just look elsewhere. Once you’ve identified relevant keywords, try to incorporate those naturally into your posts.
If this could be done without all the guess work and skill involved, would that be something you would want to use in your business?
What if you could run your blog from your phone?
