When building a business we are usually embrassing our technician. We build the business around our skills and show it off but we don't stop to be the entrepreeur and build our business so that it supports and nurishes us, grows with us andcreates our legacy. We manage by default to get started and unfortunately find that too often we are among the 95% of business startups that fail.
Why?
The technician rushes to set things up to do the do. Enslaving himself to the work, doing everything himself. When if he had thought through the structure of the business he was building at the beginning.
Focused some time on the business plan for now and the future.
He would have seen the need to delegate the various tasks between the Technician, Entrepreneur and Manager.
In the beginning all roles may be undertaken by the business owner. However, with a little growth they soon become overwhelming. This is the time when you need to fall back on your business plan. Decide which role is most important for the founder to undertake and delegate. More tomorrow.....
