This is a Guest Author Post by Diana Smith
You have started a new business or you have decided to expand your existing business with a new product line, and a common thing is to make your potential and/or existing customers aware of the new product on the market. Since the current market scene is overwhelmed with numerous offers, it’s hard to be noticed among similar products. A new product doesn’t have the customer proven quality, so it has to be additionally promoted. Satisfied customers are the best and the least expensive marketing agents.
Here we’ll discuss a few methods how to help your new product brand to get necessary attention so it will be recognized in the future. Your product may be the best one currently on the market, but if no one hasn’t heard of it, its quality doesn’t mean anything.
Be reachable!
If any information about your brand isn’t easy to find, forget about having even one customer. Nowadays, let’s say it, electronic age, most of the people search information online, on the Internet. Use that fact. Develop or have the website about your brand be developed. Pay attention to the message your website sends about your (new) brand. Take care of website’s aesthetic, words that you use in describing the brand and be sure that any potential customer can find something interesting that your product can offer in comparison to other similar products. Invest either money (if you want to hire someone else to do it for you) or time (if you want to learn and do it yourself) in SEO (Search Engine Optimization). It will help your website appear on the top of Web search results.
Be present!
Social media presence is a matter of life and death in today’s marketing. Lots of people use at least one, if not more social networks. Social networks are great because it is the place where your potential customers can have all the experience from your current customers. People talk about products and share their experiences related to your and lots of other brands. Having brand related social networks accounts provides you with a comfortable and easy reach to targeted the audience. Besides that, every satisfied customer is doing great marketing for your brand. Don’t forget about traditional advertising methods, like putting an advertisement in your local newspaper, sharing leaflets or direct communication with potential customer. When choosing newspapers which will advertise you, consider the audience that reads it. If you miss the targeted audience, advertisement you put won’t have desired positive effect on your brand.
Sponsor!
Making people aware of your brand isn’t cheap. Depending on your marketing budget, think of sponsoring some kind of social events. For example, sponsor a local basketball team and you can promote your brand by providing each player a personalized drink bottle with you brand logo on. You can also contribute some of charity events or charity organizations. Besides letting people hear about your brand, it will also make them see your awareness regarding different kinds of social problems. It’s important to have great connections with local media in order to cover the events that you sponsor.
Be seen!
Ensure that your product is displayed on shelves at eye’s level. If it’s possible ensure a separate place for your brand only. Displaying your product near the cash register will ensure your product to be seen, because people spend significant amount of time queuing, waiting to pay what they’d purchased. Of course, an attractive product package design is top priority.
Be unique!
Don’t walk in other company’s footsteps and prevent your customers feeling misled or confused. Offer a (sort of) gift with your brand, something that others can’t, or offer it in a way that they can’t or didn’t. This will make your brand unique and easily remembered. Be consistent in what you’re offering your clients so they won’t have any doubts when quality is in question. Make a reliable connection between you and your customers.
Making people aware of the new brand isn’t an easy job. It’s been said that about 13.5% percent of people are early adopters. If you convince them to try your new product, with a good marketing strategy and following 5 previously mentioned tips, you’ll surely reach next 34% that’s called early majority. This will give you a satisfying return of investment in all further marketing.
