Commitment—The Power of Desire

Long, long ago a great warrior faced a situation that made it necessary for him to make a decision that ensured he would be successful on the battlefield.  He was about to send his warriors against a powerful army whose men outnumbered his own.  So, he loaded his soldiers into boats and sailed to the enemy’s country, unloaded his soldiers and equipment, then gave his men the order to burn their own ships.

Standing bravely before his men just before the first battle, he said, “You see the boats are burning, going up in smoke.  That means that we cannot leave these shores alive unless we win!  We now have no choice—we win—or we perish!”  They won.  That is powerful and speaks volumes to being committed to your desires (goals and dreams).

When our why is big and powerful enough, we are able to do the impossible.  When we are able to burn our own ships, we are able to do the unimaginable.  Continue here..
