How can anyone say people were healthier in the 1960's

We were healthier because we ate very little meat. We ate lots of vegetables and fruits, very few sweets, no sweetened drinks. No fast foods. No highly processed foods.  Physically we worked and played much harder. We didn't spend hours in front of the television or computer.

We didn't spend hours on the phone texting. Children walked everywhere, swam, played ball with neighbors. We rode bicycles, played jump rope, ran just for the fun of it, spent much more time outside.
We couldn't walk to the corner convenience store and get all the candy and sodas.  Things like donuts, and candy bars were a once or twice a year treat. We had no steroids, antibiotics, or hormones in our meats and dairy products. If we were thirsty, we drank water. That's how I grew up. 
We now have an epidemic of obese children, and children and teens with type 2 diabetes, more allergies, more asthma, and heart problems are affecting people at younger and younger ages. We lived much healthier lives in the 60s. Can you relate?
