Having been in the music industry for quite some time I have a rather large song catalog & long track record, working with such varied artists as Jocelyn Brown, Mick Taylor, Maxine Brown, Dennis Williams (O’Jays, Temptations), Larry Harlow, Ron Richardson, Carl Hall, Aztec 2 Step, Beverly Crosby, Loretta Devine, and Vondie Curtis-Hall in such varied genres such as Pop, R&B/Soul, Contemporary Crossover Jazz, Rock, Dance, Singer-Songwriter, New Country, and Folk idioms.
I have been producing artists in genres such as Pop, R&B, Rock, Contemporary Jazz, Dance, Singer-Songwriter, New Country, and Folk idioms for 25 years, ranging from Jocelyn Brown to Larry Harlow to Mick Taylor to Maxine Brown, among many others. I have my own recording studio, RMCO MUSIC, in Chelsea in Manhattan, or if you prefer another one we can work there, or online, if you so desire. Please let me know if you would like to set up a meeting so that we can more fully discuss your project. ANNOUNCEMENT for BOB CRAWFORD’S NEWLY PUBLISHED MUSIC THEORY BOOK
”SYMMETRIC CYCLES”
NEW TOOLS FOR ADVANCED IMPROVISATION AND COMPOSITION FOR ALL MELODIC INSTRUMENTS
Announcing the release of Bob Crawford’s newly published John Coltrane/Pat Martino/Nicholas Slonimsky-inspired music theory book "Symmetric Cycles" (Foreward by Mick Taylor -Rolling Stones/John Mayall) by RMCO MUSIC/Charles Colin Publications.
“Symmetric Cycles" offers new ways of stretching the melodic and harmonic boundaries of Modal Jazz, Blues, Pentatonic Rock, Latin (Montunos, etc.) Reggae, World Music, etc., creating sound colors that will open your ears in ways you may not have experienced before. It also is extremely useful compositionally--connecting chords in very unique ways, adding emotional sound colors to original musical works. As a teaching tool, it is very valuable for advanced students as well as seasoned players.
The "Symmetric Cycles" site offers a preview of several pages of the book. Here are 2 endorsements of the book by Larry Harlow and Bertha Hope:
“Very rarely does a book on advanced improvisation come to be published that makes sense. Bob Crawford, whom I have had the pleasure to have worked with professionally and known personally for over 30 years, has written just such a book. If you are a true musician and understand “movement of sound” you will certainly learn and enjoy from his newest venture into the world of improvising/composing in “Symmetric Cycles”… Read and learn from this master Guitarist and Teacher.”
Larry Harlow Lifetime Grammy Award Winner-2008, Latin Music Hall of Fame Member, Pianist, Composer, Arranger, Producer, Bandleader, Founder of the Fania All Stars, CEO Latin Legends, Inc., Lecturer, Music Educator
“Standing on the shoulders of John Coltrane, Bob Crawford's innovative and mathematical approach to improvising and composing makes for one amazing musical adventure. Your diligence in implementing these concepts in various musical styles e.g. Modal, Jazz, Blues, Rock, World, etc. will lift your playing/writing to a higher and brighter level of complexity and sophistication. “Symmetric Cycles”- a true musical breakthrough!!”
Bertha Hope-Booker Pianist, Composer, Arranger, Recording Artist, Bandleader, Music Educator“
"Symmetric Cycles” can be ordered by calling Charles Colin Publications at 845-680-6880, their website http://www.charlescolin.com/order1.htm or through my website http://www.carosta.com/bobcrawford/. You can preview several pages of the book by clicking on the book cover.
