We drove through this rainstorm last week, and it was pretty brutal. Lots of accidents, lots of stressful times with lightning and thunder. Some heavy traffic, and some near misses.
When we got to the other end, the air was fresh and clean. We arrived at one of our favorite restaurants for Bruce's birthday - Shady Maple Smorgasbord in the Lancaster, PA area. They give you a free meal for your birthday if you buy another adult dinner.
We ended up having a nice time. A few hours by ourselves.
We didn't get times like this for 2 years. We went through emotional storms. Mom and Dad were both failing in their health, and we all lived together. My sister and I were fine with having help from the Home Nurses, Physical Therapists and other medical professionals, but we wanted to keep my parents at home.
