Has anyone ever told you that you are on a power trip?

At one time or another, it’s happened to the best of us, but don’t let it get to you when you make a few thousand with online marketing. It has been said that the most successful people are that 1% of the population, and it’s true.

You absolutely cannot believe everything you hear, but by the same token, at some point you have to step out on faith and take action in your own marketing. So, what is this blog post really about?

This is about realizing that we are just part of a bigger fishbowl, and that we all have to start somewhere to get somewhere. Truth is, you can’t afford to be on a power trip at any point in your online marketing career, and I am going to tell you why!

Relax! No Time for a Power Trip

Okay, so the point of the above photo is to remind you that it’s time for you to relax. There is no sense in becoming a braggart about a good weekend of sales online. Believe me when I say that, we’ve all had a great weekend, a good weekend, and we will all have weekends that are not always at the top of our game.

None of us have any time to relax on how consistent we are, that is for sure. Consistency is the main thing that keeps you at the top of your game. In fact, without consistency, I don’t know how you can ever reach the top.

So, what is the best example of a power trip I can give you when it comes to online marketing? Here are the first examples that come to mind, and these are the ones you want to avoid at all costs.

  1. Photos of you with a car you don’t own (even if you do, so what, it’s a car)
  2. Photos of you at a party with millionaires that you don’t know, trying to make it sound like you do
  3. Photos of stacks of cash on your desk that you just ran out to the bank to get, and it really is money you ran off the printer!

You might be laughing but people do this! The thing is, unless you can produce a success story, where you have taught others to do the same thing, and it’s duplicatable, forget it. Make sense?

I mean, if you are in an MLM business don’t you grow your business by teaching others? If you are going to recruit them into your business, why wouldn’t you want to teach them? If you don’t, you won’t grow at all. In fact, I will go so far as to say, forget growth on any level-PERIOD.

Going on a Power Trip Will Cost You Respect

One more thing before I go; being on a power trip can cause others to lose respect for you. There isn’t anything for you to gain by being “all high and mighty”, and the thing is, you can’t really attract the quality people that you want to attract by acting this way.

It’s true that you attract the people that you want to attract by how you act, how you talk, and by how you market. Would you rather attempt to ride the coattails of a leader, or would you rather ride the coattails of someone that talks to people and teaches them the business?

If you have been following the career of leaders like Rob Fore and Ray Higdon, then these are tremendous examples of how to do it! Remember, they didn’t get to where they were by stepping on people or doing things that are unethical. They learned from mentors that were “Teaching others”, and then they went out and implemented what they learned. They took action.

What type of results do you want? Who do you desire to attract into your business? If you want to learn more about how you can create real value, and avoid the power trip, just go HERE now to learn more!
