I see it in myself. For me, and for many of us, our first waking thought of the day is “I didn’t get enough sleep.” The next one is “I don’t have enough time.” Whether true or not, that thought of not enough occurs to us automatically before we even think to question or examine it. We spend most of the hours and the days of our lives hearing, explaining, complaining, or worrying about what we don’t have enough of.
Taken From the Book – The Soul of Money: Transforming Your Relationship With Money and Life by Lynne Twist (Chapter 3 Scarcity: The Great Lie)
She continues on about this lack of “scarcity mentality”. I work through this whenever someone mentions “lack of” anything. I believe if we ever run out of any resource, that means it is obviously obsolete. Either we don’t need it any more or those with solutions have a lack of thought process and therefore they hoard (hide) the answers. I know people will get fired up about this statement and start throwing things about homeless, hunger, disease, etc.
Folks I don’t believe we lack the resources. I do believe a lot of it is not being shared. The reason is the “lack of mentality” by some of those with answers. If someone believes – “if I feed you, then I don’t eat”, then they will justify not feeding you. If they believe there is always enough, they will find a way to feed you.
There is an old saying that I believe to be true and that is “how you do some things is how you do all things”.
In other words, if you have a “lack of” mentality, it will show up in all areas of your life. If you believe in “abundance”, then it will show up.
All belief’s that you have – were created by programming. Things you have repeated to yourself enough times until you actually believe it. I know that statement will get some folks fired up too. But if you stop for a second and think, how many things in your life at one time you knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was the truth. Only to find out later, you were wrong. Beliefs are true to you but they are not the truth.
That is why my motto is – “It ain’t right. It ain’t wrong. It’s my opinion.
My passion is to get the world to understand this motto and to look at your opinions (beliefs) and see if they are getting you where you want to go. If they are, keep them. If not, it is time to change. Stop allowing others to create your beliefs for you.
I would recommend that you take 5 minutes and listen to the conversation you have with yourself. It will be a true self discovery. I used to do this in my business meetings. Take score of your thoughts. When thoughts pop in your head (and they will whether you like it or not lol), recognize where the statements are coming from. A “lack of” thought process or abundance. For most, you will finish this exercise in 30 seconds to 1 minute.
As a matter of fact, some won’t ever have to do the exercise, they already know where they stand.
Either way, it is time to reprogram your thoughts and create an abundance mentality.
I know, but Ron, we do lack things and I have to keep it real!!! Well that statement is a “lack of” mentality at work.
Your current “lack of” thoughts were put there through programming. If you are being programmed anyway, why not be programmed for abundance.
Just remember, abundance covers every area (relationships, spirituality, health, etc).
It ain’t right. It ain’t wrong. It’s my opinion

How are you Merle? Great to hear from you. Thanks again for your time and effort. You know me, if I can get you thinking, I get excited lol
Great post Ron and when I first started reading the bit about 'enough' it got me thinking. Thanks for sharing and will share for you.
Great message Judy and you know I appreciate your time and effort. Mentality follows you like a shadow so we must be aware of where we stand. We have seen the puppy that stood by the fire hydrant and the reflection on the wall was a huge vicious looking dog. For most, that is the "lack of" mentality. We need to recognize that it is a puppy and that our situations are something we can handle. Enjoy the journey.
I loved this post Ron. I believe the same as Terri. Mentality goes with everything we do. Have a great outlook is what I strive for every day.
What's up Terri? We both know people definitely have a choice in what programming they decide to live by. Helping people reprogram (as you know) is my passion because what people are truly capable is extraordinary. Getting them to recognize that is where the fun begins. Thanks for your sharing and continued support.
How are you Meredith? Thanks for the visit and your words. Some people with a scarcity mentality may do things out of integrity and therefore you have to be careful so you don't get burned. I agree people with the abundance mentality are attractive and continue to attract more to themselves because we get more of that which we believe. If you believe in abundance than you allow more to flow to you. Again I appreciate your time and efforts.
When people have a "lack" mentality it shows in everything they do. It's negative talk in their conversation and the way they act around people. As you said it's due to their bad "negative" programming. They have a choice to make a change to reprogram for abundance. As you said abundance covers every area (spiritual, health, relationships and more). I love your post Ron. As usual you nailed it and it's been shared via Syndication Automation and Google plus.
I find it hard to trust people who operate in the mindset of "scarcity." It is a powerful motivator for some anti-social behavior. On the other hand, when I come across people who see life as being abundant despite their circumstances, it is very attractive to me. I wonder how many people feel the same way as me. Great post, Ron!
