Servanthood-The Beginning of Leadership

Servanthood is The Beginning of Leadership which takes place once we've learned that we must “die daily to ourselves.”

“You’ll always have everything in life that you want, if you’ll help enough other people get what they want.”
–Zig Ziglar

The fact is, no one will ever truly be a success in life until they've first learned to serve those they lead.  Servanthood is actually the “True Measure of Greatness.”  Why?  Because it means that you must first be ready to serve “without” reaping any benefits at first.  In other words; “You must be willing to serve before you are looking for a way to receive anything in return.”

You must also be prepared to focus on the “well-being” of those following you.

One of the most incredible benefits of Servanthood is the fact that when you give of yourself to help others, you cannot help but be personally and abundantly rewarded.

In fact, the rewards and blessings of being a servant always extend far beyond what can be seen or heard.

“He that is greatest among you must first be your servant.”  Matthew 23:11

“The first responsibility of a leader is to define reality. The last is to say thank you. In between, the leader is a servant.”
–Max de Pree

“Good leaders must first become good servants.”
–Robert Greenleaf

“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”
–John Quincy Adams

“True leadership must be for the benefit of the followers, not to enrich the leader.”
–John C. Maxwell

“Servant-leadership is more than a concept, it is a fact. Any great leader, by which I also mean an ethical leader of any group, will see herself or himself as a servant of that group and will act accordingly.”
–M. Scott Peck

“Whatever our career may be, true leadership means to receive power from God and to use it under Gods rule to serve people in Gods way.”
–Leighton Ford

“We are here to add what we can to, not get what we can from life.”
–Sir William Osler

The way to the Throne Room is through the Servant’s Quarters.  No one is a “Success” in life until they have first learned to be a Servant; therefore Servanthood is The Beginning of Leadership.
