Twitter - Why People Unfollow YOU?

This information below can be very useful for those of us who have Twitter accounts.

The author Brandon Gaille has proven to always share content which is beneficial for internet marketers.

1. Keep to Yourself
The top reason why Twitter pages are unfollowed are due to users who appear to be too noisy.

2. Refrain from Self-Promoting
Do not overwhelm your followers with an excessive amount of shameless self-promoting.

3. Don’t be Spammy
You are sure to lose followers if you are guilty of posting to much spam.

4. Stay Interesting
The best way to keep your followers around is to stay interesting enough for them to stay.

5. Stop Repeating
Do not be repetitive with your posts or content. Too much repetition will make your followers lose interest and go somewhere else.

6. Automation is Bad
Do not perform too much automation and be sure to take the time to be original.

7. Be Professional
Make sure your tweets are not offensive in nature or come across unprofessional. This is especially important for those that are representing a brand.

8. Beggars Do Not Win
Do not come across as a pest by begging for tweets. It will turn your followers off.

9. Make Some Noise
If your page is vacant and to quiet, you are sure to lose followers that will take their activity elsewhere.

10. Do Not be Abusive
You do not want to come across as an abuser and harass your followers that were kindly enough to take the time to get to know you.

11. Start a Conversation
If you want to build a loyal follower base, be sure to start a conversation and remain conversational.

12. Be Grammatically Correct
Grammar errors will turn your followers off.

13. Excessive Retweeting
Too many retweets will lose the interest of your followers.

14. DM Abuse
If you abuse the direct message feature, you will be sure to come across as a spammer, creating unforgiving followers.

15. Hashtag Abusers
Do not go hashtag crazy in your Tweets. Another thing that can make you comes across as spammy.

Bonus:
Some additional reasons on making sure you lose followers are to self-obsess, use too many quotations, be negative about everything, swearing, and retweeting every positive scrap of feedback you may have received as a business. You can also turn people off by being to snarky, bypassing the character limit and separating tweets, and not giving credit to sources you use.
