Hi Everyone! I am George Pierce, this post is about how you can easily remove the background from an image, and how to add an outline. The process is free, fast, and simple. We will use two tools: one to remove the background and another to add the outline. Above is an example of what you can create in about two minutes or less.
The first step is to remove the background.
Based on my experience, Removebg (remove dot bg) is the BEST background removal site and is free. Upload your image.
The image on the left is the one that I uploaded for this post, because the background and this image are close, as far as color. I want you to see how good a job this software does.
The image on the right is the one that was downloaded from Removebg. The software did all the work.
If the software does not do a perfect job, if it fails to remove a spot or removes a bit too much, you can manually edit, if necessary. The bottom line is that Removebg does a nearly perfect job nearly every time. You will love the results, how easy this is, and how fast it is.
Click done and download.
To add an outline, go to Canva (canva dot com). Upload your image.
Near the top left of your dashboard, click on 'Edit Image'.
Click on the box that says shadows (above), then shadow (below).
Your outline will appear around your image. It is that easy. Near the bottom left, you have control over the width (Size) of your outline, the color of your outline, and the intensity.
When you are happy with your new image, name your image, click share, and click download.
Images with outlines are proven to get more attention, so using an outline for a YT thumbnail is a popular way to get more views.
As you can see, the software does the work.
