1. Keyword Research (First Base)
Go to ubersuggest dot com
Type in a seed keyword related to your niche.
Free features to use:
Search Volume: See how many people search that term monthly.
SEO Difficulty: Check how hard it is to rank organically.
Keyword Ideas: Scroll for related keywords and long-tail options.
Grand Slam Tip: Choose keywords with high volume + low/medium difficulty.
2. Content Ideas (Second Base)
Click on “Content Ideas” in the left menu.
See top-performing articles for your keyword (based on social shares and backlinks).
Analyze what’s working—then make something better or more complete.
Grand Slam Tip: Add videos, infographics, or fresh stats to outshine them.
3. Site Audit (Third Base)
Enter your website URL in the search bar.
Go to Site Audit for:
SEO health check
Top issues (like broken links, missing meta tags)
On-page improvements
Grand Slam Tip: Fix critical errors first, then optimize for speed and mobile.
4. Backlinks (Home Run!)
Click “Backlinks” in the sidebar.
See who links to your domain (or a competitor’s).
Find opportunities to reach out and get similar backlinks.
Grand Slam Tip: Check new backlinks weekly and set goals for outreach.

The snapshot at the top of this post is searching for History Quiz, so let's think about another choice of words that your prospects might use. How about Quiz About History. A search difficult of 55 (top) means about a 45% chance of success...not bad, but not so good if you are new to SEO. The lower the search difficulty, the better your chances. "Quiz About History" has more search volume and an 85% chance of success.
