OH NO! Yesterday's results are in ~ they stink! Our video stinks!
On my quest to create videos that can get 1M Views on YT, I am beginning with TikTok,
and Claude (free AI) is assisting (see previous SE posts).
Yesterday's video got 50 views over night, and
most viewers left almost immediately!
The avarage watch time was 3.74 seconds which is sad.
However, 7.6% watched to the end. Still sad, but improving.
The Brutal Truth
Our hook is still NOT working!
AND
TikTok is starting to show our videos to less vewers!
Please remember, that these small failures are going to teach us.
What can we learn and do?
When most viewers are leaving almost immediately, it is because our hook is not "hooking" our viewers.
- "I was at Walmart and this man just..." is TOO SLOW
- People don't care about the setup - they want the payoff NOW
- The first frame/text isn't stopping the scroll
The good news is that there is a fix that we can try. Our viewers want the payoff, and they want it now, let's give it to them.
I am preparing a new version with the payoff at the beginning of the video.
"BRO TRIED TO RETURN THIS" with a close up of a 70% eaten chicken in a rotisserie container on a Walmart customer service counter.
FYI: Above is a snapshot of the YT thumb, purposely not shoiwing the mostly eaten chicken, the video, however, definitely shows the chicken remnants at the very start (frame one), so we are getting to the payoff immediately.
The idea: a better hook.
Getting less views is an indicator that Tiktok is beginning to pre-judge the quality of our videos. In this case, we are working on
manipulating the the Hook, Setup, Payoff, and Close, and making our video as short as possible
...so it is easier to get our viewers to stay and stay to the end.
More coming soon.
Thank you for reading.
Much success,
George Pierce
PS. This quest is using a brand new channel on both Tiktok and YouTube.
The following snapshot is of a channel that is a year old this month ~ this post was made on 1-11-26.
