Building A List is Based On Incentives

I need to emphasize you must collect emails before you send an enquirer to a vendor's offer.

You must think in terms of building your list first,even before you think about that affiliate commission.

The same strategy applies if you're a vendor and you make or have your own products.

The same applies to license rights products.

Recall, the most important piece which you'll need to have included in your optin page is a valuable gift.

You're aware that list building is always based on a quid pro quo.

If you're an affiliate,or an aspiring affiliate,you need to think about how to collect emails and develop a list.

The only way is to offer a valuable gift.

I'm being repetitious here, but to emphasize main points you need to be repetitive.

We're now together on the advantages of building a list, but lets look at some of the attributes.

First, it is relatively inexpensive to join an autoresponder.

As you build a list you pay a set monthly fee for the autoresponder service.

This is part of the cost of the SBO's expenses.

Never use the dollar sign ($),as this will certainly be flagged as spam by the reputable ISPs and email companies.

You must use Gmail for sending email.

Recipients are looking at your name, the subject line,and a snippet of the email copy.

Each comes to view before the email is opened,so you see the need for each initial piece being very interesting and appealing.

The validity of the email can be determined with one glance .
The quality of the glance will drive your OR.

Keep in mind,that the industry wide open rate is 20% and the average click through rate is only 3.36% in the home business opportunity niche.

If you're using Safelists the OR will be below 1%.
Recall, Safelists are used for recruitment or building a list,never for sales.

Since the open rate is so significant, the object is to utilize the snippet and subject line to arouse or compel persons to open the email.

There will always be unsubscribes,every time you send a "followup"email to your list,you will get an average one quarter percent unsubscribe.

So you can do the math, for a thousand subscribers 2.5 persons will unsubscribe.
Obviously to keep up,you'll need to constantly add subscribers and grow your list to not only offset the unsubscribes,but to keep your business growing and healthy.

Moreover, your list,if done correctly,will become your business' main asset.
Recall,subject line is the most important part of the email message, because it is the entrance to your email body.

The credibility of the gate determines if readers go through it.
Always write a subject line like you're addressing a friend.

If your open rate is below the normal industry open rate, look at the subject line first.
Stay away from sales pitches and anything resembling spam.

Obviously, you need to recommend products and services that have significant value,something you would purchase.

Be sure to use interesting and unusual diction and syntax in the subject line,such as question marks,brackets and percentages:

Do you believe in miracles? [see video] or [free report];
Really 99% will fail in there diet without this
100% of successful marketers have this tool.

Use the word "report", don't use the phrase "free gift",instead, use clever wording like,take this eBook as I appreciate your friendship.

Be sure to write in the second person singular or plural, "you, your,yours" and not the first person singular,"I".

Send time can be important, because you'd like your email to arrive first AM, when the recipient is fresh and just starting their day.

If you're using an Autoresponder, set send for 12AM.

Be sure to send the same email out to those who didn't open the initial email, but this time,change the subject line.

Once they've opened the email,you want them to click the link,this is the all important click through rate or CTR.

Recall you need to position the link above the fold, this means as close to the top as possible.
Put your link in the email body after not more then 2 or 3 lines.
Use a second link and a post script.

Post scripts seem to always get read, therefore a great place to put your link.
Some experts claim postscripts should not be used in email. Most of the email marketers that I've seen use it.

However,If you just want a way of introducing a side topic,or post topic, you could just use a phrase like 'incidentally', 'on another note', 'by the way'.

So you want to write your emails with a compelling subject.
The email body needs to be terse but meaningful.

Keep the paragraph width very narrow and the length very short,as that will make it much easier to read through your email.

The conversion rate is the rate at which you get the recipients to take the desired action.

The desired action may be to get an optin or signups to your list,or to get recipients to buy something.
However never attempt to sell until there's a viable two way communication. The recipient has to know who you are.

Safelists and Solo Ads are used primarily for getting signups,just like your blog.
Also, social media adverts are generally used for signups.

It's hard to get meaningful sales,or sales that are not-lucky, using these tactics.
Meaningful sales come from customers,and customers imply relationships.

Keep in mind, that a small percentage of your list will buy 50% of the products and services that you sell.

This small group (.5%) will be your core group of loyal customers.
This is the group on which the future success of your business will depend.

You need to build relationships with gratis products and by promoting significant value-add products or services.

If you prioritize these guidelines,you will maintain that core group upon whom you can depend for 80% of your business.

The best email marketers are the ones who are not only the most consistent in sending out their emails, they also establish relationships.

It's not frequency of mailing, it's consistency of mailing, and knowing how to create relationships, how to create that core group, that .05%-the all important buyers group.

IMers know that Wordpress is the best software to use to build a blog.

The reason for this is that it is relatively simple to use,and it's a complete blogging and content management platform.

Recall,it's an "open source" software,which means that it's gratis,and anyone from any part of the world,can work on it,enhancing it and add to it.

In addition, you can build a Wordpress site for free, it's the domain, hosting, and other amenities for which you must pay.

The open source blogging platform was started in 2003,but has evolved into a content management system,because of the evolution of plugins and widgets.

Basically,plugins and widgets allow the expanding capabilities of the platform.

Also, they allow designers of plugins and widgets to continually enhance the platform.
They can really expand efficiency of the platform.

On the other hand, you can add plugin or widgets that'll wind up being more of a negative than a positive.

Wordpress gives the website administrator significant control over the WP site, by way of the WP dashboard or admin.

However,like any software,there are significant quirks,and there can be mismatches and kinks in primarily the plugins,but also in the widgets.
Your site can get knocked down, by a mismatched or quirky plugin or widget.

It's really quite amazing that Wordpress has been able to continually move the software forward,with the pervasive designers and disparate add-ons.

Obviously, one of the predominant issues is matching the release number of Wordpress with the release number of the plugin or widget.

So you can have an older version of WP and a plugin engineered for the newest version.
Or conversely,you can have the newest version of WP and a plugin or widget engineered for an older version.

Normally the "detail" of the plugin or widget will give you the "Requires WordPress Version" e.g., 3.3 or higher;it will give the "Compatible up to",e.g.,4.1.

It will also give you the "Downloaded" (how many times it's been downloaded)

Mismatches or kinks can be two of the preponderate issues if your site fails.
Most of the time with a quirk or a mismatch,you'll see the problem soon enough,as your site will behave differently.

You can obviously fix this by deleting the new add-on.But what happens if you can't access your site?
You'll need to go to your WP C-Panel.

Go to: public_html/wp-content/plugins in your file manager,find the offensive plugin,left click to highlight,right click for the pulldown,then double click delete.

Keep in mind,that a WP failure can also be caused by other issues, that are probably not nearly as common as a defective or mismatched plugin.

For example you can have corrupted files or a corrupted database.
That means that you'll need to regularly back up your blog.

There are several ways to do this,but one of the ways is to upload a backup-your-site WP plugin.
Obviously,you want to be able to recover quickly in the event of a server failure,or website code contamination.

In CPanel hosting, click Applications at the top of the CPanel,

Sometimes a plugin can fail,after you've upgraded your version of Wordpress,as it now becomes mismatched.

Obviously, you look for the compatibility version first and segregate the ones that are incompatible with you currect version.

At that point,you either switch back to the earlier version of Wordpress,or you methodically disable each plugin until you find the offender.

Remember you need to verify that you've a new backup of your site, before you upgrade to a newer version of WP.

There are several ways to troubleshoot,you can disable plugins one at a time and check for correct functionality, or you can disable all the plugins and check for functionality.

If you disable all the plugins,then you conversely enable each plugin back one at at time and check for proper functionality after the individual enable.

Once you find the corrupt or mismatched plugin,then you'll need to either delete,update, or get a substitute plugin.

Wordpress can also look for database corruption,this is much more rare,but can happen.

For Server versions of web hosting Plesk is used.

Plesk is a commercial web hosting platform with a control panel that allows a server administrator to set up new websites, reseller accounts, e-mail accounts and DNS entries through a web-based interface.

Keep in mind, that Plesk lets you manage Windows and Linux, whereas, cPanel only supports Linux.

The email open rate is probably the most important piece in email marketing and SBOs and IMers know the importance of email marketing.

Fifty four percent of businesses view email as the most effective form of Internet marketing.
So you can see the reliance that internet businesses have on email marketing.

But the deluge of spam,redundant,preposterous, and clichéd email has created significant overexposure.

The deluge has resulted in email customers,and the general email public users becoming totally blasè.
Much of the email is never delivered, and a significant number of emails go to spam.
How many times have you heard "check your spam filter".

This is why my partner is such an advocate for gmail, as gmail gets through many of the filters.

Keep in mind, clicks will tell you that the email recipients are valid recipients.

Lacking clicks you lack credibility, interest in your product offering and trust.
So more than ever deliverability and open rates are key to email marketing.

If you have high deliverability and open rates,this indicates you're getting it done.
At least the most important part of the advertising technique,getting it delivered and opened.
You need a highly-thought-out compelling subject line.

Obviously,a highly responsive list of email subscribers that know you, and with whom you have interactions, is the sought-after piece of email marketing.

Every email you send that doesn't get opened is a missed opportunity, and subject lines that may have worked in the past may not work today.

This is for the reasons above which I'd referred.

What all of this means, in a nutshell, is that you've got to get innovative in order to get your email opened these days.

To remain healthy and viable as an email marketer,you'll need to invest in some long term creative thinking.

Keep in mind,the pieces of getting a high open rate to which I called to your attention deliverability and compelling subjects.

Responsive email recipients may be in the future, but always a target twoward which online marketers take aim.

A sure way to lose people is by using ridiculous headlines.
The term "win-win" always gets peoples' attention.
But how do you establish trust to build a responsive list built on trust.

Obviously, the first proposition is to add and give value,as you get to know subscribers.
Second, use the double opt-in,also known as a confirmed opt-in strategy in your autoresponder.
AWeber does not require this, but they strongly advise you to use the confirmed opt-in.

People will see your name twice, which gets the recognition process started.
The people you lose,because they didn't want to confirm their subscription,were probably not the correct fit anyway.
