The Woodstock Music and Art Fair, better known as Woodstock, was one of the largest s in history. The event was held from August 15 to 18, 1969, on Max Yasgur's dairy farm. Max's farm was in Bethel, New York, which is about 40 miles from the town of Woodstock. The music festival was billed as 3 Days of Peace & Music and was also referred to as the Woodstock Rock Festival.
The music event attracted more than 460,000 attendees. Thirty-two acts were performed at the festival. The venue was outdoors and despite overcast and sporadic rain. the show went on.
