As I continue to establish my home based business, I am daily looking for opportunities that are successful at producing an earning, because of the stability of my business I can avoid risk by being selective as to what I invest in or involve my business in.
Every day is a planned day, advertising, prospect contacts, marketing planning, emailing to affiliates, promoting your business products or services, tracking your resources to see what is producing for your business, encouraging and supporting your downline by helping them to succeed. The challenge for most people is that, they don't take the time to learn the different marketing strategy that make the program work to earn an income, or they don't involve themselves in what they commit to.
The fact is that most people need to educate themselves to the internet industry, and then find the niche that fit their plan for earning money online, the affiliate programs are good earning programs but some take a while to get into profit, the forex programs are risky because they can lose in the trading process, the penny auctions take time, and the traffic exchanges and PTC sites earnings are to low to benefit a business other than from the views received from the advertising from the exchange or PTC site.
The only suggestion I give all independent owners is to be patient with your progress, have a backup plan, and stay confident in your effort to succeed, and the last thing is to put God in front of your effort.

I agree with you that most don't take the time to learn things from marketing to communications and all in between. I must admit I have in the past been one of the worse of being a majority that only learns enough to be dangerous to them self.
