God Nudges- Back On Track to Good Health...

This post may make some of you think I have a selfish attitude but nothing could be further from the truth... I would just like to share with you my take on what I do to help myself maintain a positive attitude no matter what the circumstances...

Having overcome several non-life threatening, but very painful health issues this year, I'm feeling much better today thanks to my doctors giving new meaning to health care... I will celebrate tomorrow by going to the pool for some pool-walking & then for some therapeutic relaxation in the hot tub at the local gym... I am so grateful for the Silver Sneakers program for making these activities available for us Seniors...

I don't like pain meds because they give a false sense of security &  when pain is being managed we wind up doing things that if we were feeling pain we would refrain from doing them... I do use food & natural supplements to reduce any inflammation... They work & they have no side effects... I did indulge myself with a lot of rest which is almost impossible to do when you're working... I made a vow to myself to take good care of me when I retired... That is one of the best decisions I could have made, for today I'm enjoying a relatively healthy lifestyle... My passion for music helps me also as I only like happy, feel good kind of music... I'm convinced it adds a positive spin to my days...

I have relinquished my rights as a Green Bay Packers fan & have adopted The Philadelphia Eagles & The Philadelphia Mummers...  I used to be a parade clown so you can see where I would be completly taken by them...  :D

My passion for music helps me also  as I only like happy, feel good kind of music... I'm convinced it adds a positive spin to my days because it takes my mind off of stressful things...

I want to close by letting you know, "Growin' Old Ain't For Sissies"...  Lookin' forward to football season this year!

GO EAGLES!

Signing off 'til next time this is,

Hello Linda it's always great to read your post and yes I felt good while reading it. I feel the same way you do and feel blessed everyday. I have been through a lot this year and my recovery process is awesome. I'm in a good place now healthwise and i give much thanks to almighty God. He is the one that helped me by giving me strength to endure. Praise be to Jehovah, a happy and loving God who hasn't left me ever. I love you Jehovah.

Thank you for sharing your experiences of life and health. I wish you continued well being and keep on doing what you doing. It's working. Love you my friend.

Yes Terri, I think that all those of us who spend time here are in the same 'good place' which you, Linda and the other members radiate in your words. We are fortunate indeed.

I am so glad that you try to avoid meds.  They so often lead to more meds.  Glad that you are feeling better, Linda. I lived in Pennsylvania for about a year, the fans are true fans.

Thank you, George for your domment...  Yes, Eagles fans are much like Packer fans...  Their didication is very similar...  As for the meds, too many doctors have become glorified pill pushers these days...  The doctors I have today are treating my issues instead of just the symptoms...  I am truly fortunate...  :D

Great to hear that you're in top form and looking forward to the new football season Linda. I only once took pain killers, they were prescribed after a bad footballing injury in my playing days. I took myself off them after two days - I preferred the pain to the 'mind scrambling! ... and I generally don't do pharmaceuticals of any kind. Like you, I choose life and nature - by far the best way|

Thank you, Tom for sharing your supportive comment...  I owe so much to so many & appreciate the thoughtful care provided to me by my health care team...  It's so good to know I can be productive with my writing once again...  While I didn't feel up to writing I did use much of my down time to research my interests...  Now I feel like I'm loaded for bear & look forward to sharing my newly acquired information in my blog posts...  In 2006 I had both knees replaced which made me a believer in pain meds...  I learned instead of being caught without them I could cut them in half or even quarter them enough to take the edge off the pain but still feel that I was keeping my sanity...  That works well for me even today if they're ever prescribed for me again...  I'm grateful today that I no longer need them...  Like you, Tom, I always try to seek natural solutions...  :D
