When You Vow to Never Stop Until Success Comes

Married to Marketing

Marketers and Marketing are much like the union between two people in a marriage. The very courtship of both is comparable.

There is the meeting of the two, the falling in love with big hopes and dreams of new beginnings. It is new, it is exciting, it's romantic without thought of the pitfalls, disappointments and sometimes disillusions. All these things are not isolated to marriage. It is also the courtship between Markers and Marketing.

Sadly, the outcome of reality is also comparable between these two. Marriage normally is settled either with a divorce or it's worked out because the two people involved love, respect and see the value of the other person. This is also true in the Marketer and Marketing relationship.

What you need to know about both of these relationships is that at some point the disillusions, pitfalls, and disappointments, do come. The new DOES wear off and that's when the work begins, it is at this point you will peel back the layers of unreasonable expectations, roll up your sleeves and get down and get busy or...

You will fold like a cheap lawn chair, you will end up divorced, bitter, fearful of other relationships or your dreams of being financially free and give up on marketing, owning your own business and your dreams will be laying right there in the dirt where your lawn chair left you seated when it folded up.

In marriage, the advice I always give people in love is: "You don't marry the one you can live with, you marry the one you CAN NOT live without. The same thing goes for your relationship with marketing.

If you can't vow to never stop until your success comes then you have no business in Marketing at all! Marketing is not something you can live with it too has to be something you can not live without.

Good luck in all you do.

    Hi Terri,

Yes and that's exactly why so many marriages, as well as businesses, fail.
