Stressed Out?
Many people, especially Americans, are finding themselves more stressed due to rise of expenses.
I am in that number. (sighs)
More of us are spending more just on basic needs like food and housing like never before.
The tight finances have most of us living in frustration.
However, there is hope for us.
There are a few ways that we can combat inflation and rising costs.
One method is budgeting.
Budgeting is a topic I plan to cover in this blog soon.
But for now, think of budgeting as tracking the money you earn and the money you spend.
Budgeting keeps us on track.
Being mindful of what we earn and spend is very important to cutting down unnecessary spending.
Another method involves making more money.
Most of us just don't make enough money to cover those household expenses.
So, we must be resourceful in creating extra income.
This can include a second job, a side hustle, or starting your own business.
I think that the combination of budgeting and making more money will put us all in better shape financially.
Let me share some ways you can create extra income below.
Creating Extra Income
Thanks to the internet, creating income has become easier.
This does NOT mean that making extra money is a walk in the park.
It is not impossible.
Here are some methods I personally use to create extra income.
Affiliate Marketing
Think of affiliate marketing as getting paid to recommend other people's products and services.
This is the basics of how it works.
- You join a person and become their affiliate. Or you sign up to an affiliate program, network, or website like Clickbank. In some cases, you will have to be approved to become an affiliate.
- You will get a special link coded to you.
- You share that link with others who need that product or service.
- You get a percentage of the commission that the person, network, or website makes.
That is the basic layout of affiliate marketing.
But there is a LOT more involved to it.
There is a learning curve that comes with affiliate marketing.
The biggest perk is that you don't have to create your own product or service to sell to others.
PAID SURVEYS
Let me be clear.
Paid surveys are NOT a means to become rich.
I personally use paid surveys to help me pay for gas for my car and to help with grocery expenses.
Be sure to be honest about that.
However, if you have more time than money, surveys can be something cool to bring in supplemental income.
There are many paid survey sites out there you can start with.

Getting Paid from A Skill or Service
I was a tutor for many years at a local community college in my area.
It was the most rewarding experience I have had in my life.
With that said, getting paid for a skill or a service is possibly the best way to create extra income.
I am a math tutor and people paid me to tutor them.
If you have an existing skill like copywriting, video editing, or another digital skill, you can monetize that skill.
One of the best things about monetizing a skill or a service is that you are not limited to being online.
Cars, sinks, appliances will always break down.
We need mechanics, plumbers, carpenters, and technicians in place to repair that which has been broken down.
If you have a skill that someone needs help with, you have a great opportunity to create extra income.
A Second Job
I know this will not be a popular option.
I know that we live in the age of "be your own boss" and the "social media celebrity" culture.
There are all kinds of "experts" online telling people to quit their jobs and pursue being your own boss.
That advice is incomplete and is illogical, in my opinion.
I am not downing digital entrepreneurs or content creators because I consider myself a content creator.
But a second job, part-time or full-time, can help create a short-term solution to avoid long term difficulties.
A second job can give you the tangible income you need to meet immediate financial needs and stabilize your financial situation.
Not all jobs are "death sentences" and there can be happiness to be found in a job, if it's the right situation/environment.
Conclusion
Whether you choose affiliate marketing, a second job, or providing a service/skill, it is about bringing stability to your financial situation.
That is done with making more than the cost of your expenses.
The reality is that most of us are barely just getting by.
So, take advantage of the information I shared and give yourself the gift of financial peace.
