Hello! I am George Pierce, I have about 20 years of online experience. This post is about how you can get search engines to send traffic to your website or your channel for free. There are many ways to get free traffic, in this post, we will focus on using KEYWORDS. This kind of strategy comes under what is called SEO which is short for Search Engine Optimization.
20 years ago, as a newbie Internet Marketer, I was clueless, so I purchased an ebook about Internet Marketing. It was very helpful, but then I came to a chapter about SEO. It scared me to the point that I considered quitting...for me, quitting is not an option and not something that I ever consider...so that is how much SEO scared me.
I share this because I want to assure you that SEO is not something that you need to be intimidated by.
Understanding SEO is not difficult and using SEO is easy.
The following is based on my personal SEO experience, my SEO successes, and my SEO failures. I do not claim to be an SEO expert, but I have been able to use SEO for lots of free traffic. I intend that what follows will help you.
The search engines are doing their best to provide you and me with the best content relative to our search and/or our online history. The two major search engines are Google and YouTube, however, if you can get one search engine to take notice of your content, and we are going to say that your content is 'good content', the rest will follow.
The search engines are looking for good content, so we need to provide good content.
But why would search engines send traffic to a new website or a new channel when there are a gazillion websites and channels that have already proven that they produce good content?
The fact is that search engines are going to favor established content creators and they should.
So... Can we compete? And how do we compete?
Yes, we can compete! Here is how.
KEYWORDS
There is more to SEO than keywords, but keywords are still one of the most important ways of generating free traffic. Keywords help you to tell the search engines what your content is all about.
But...here is what most of us do. We create good content or great content, and after we have created our masterpiece, we tackle SEO. After we create, we find the appropriate keywords and sprinkle them into our content, and into our meta section. This is wrong. What this means is that our SEO does not work...I have been there...and, of course, it is not our fault.
I rationalized that search engines are not going to send traffic to new sites and new channels, so that is why SEO is not going to work.
The truth is that keywords do work, even for newbies.
BACKWARD
The secret is that we need to create our content 'backward'.
We need to start with our keywords. We need to find our keywords and then build our content around them. All of a sudden, you are not stuffing your content and meta section with keywords, and the search engines will see that. Your content is built around your keywords, and all fit together well.
When you choose your keywords, look for keywords that have good search volume with low competition. For help with finding the best keywords for free, click here to watch this video.
This backward creation seems to apply to just about everything that you or I might create on the Internet. This simple trick works on content creation of any kind including videos.
It also works for emails, sales pages, sales videos, and landing pages, except that you build your pages and videos around your call to action.
SUMMARY
If you want to make money online, be BACKWARD!
Thank you for reading.
Much Success,
George Pierce

Nice post and I'm sure it will help people to learn about keyword research.
I spent a lot of time learning about keywords/keyword phrases.
I learned this from Travis Sago about 15 years ago, thank you, Terri.
For the first 35 years of my life English was to me backwards and complicated. My first published articles on line have been on a page one people are still finding, because my sentences were put together like the Mexicans would. Every sentence in those articles was about the subject. The title of the articles were the subject.
Search engines look beyond the keywords, most people don't realize this. They search the content to see if you are using words that relate to the title. The more words or phrases that do the better chance you stand of being on a page one people will find.
One of my first articles was first found on a page one in a sub niche. Later it ranked for about 8 different search terms. In my worst week ever it still had 66 people stay on the article for more than 15 seconds, and most read the entire article.
I appreciate this info, thank you, Dennis. By focusing on the title and relating to the title in each sentence, we improve our SEO chances, which makes perfect sense.
When a person clicks on a link, they expect to find information about what they searched. By giving them what they want, Google and other search engines find enough value to rank your content. This came about because of the Panda update way back in 2011. Before that you could stuff keywords and get people to content that was unrelated to the search terms.
SEO is considered part of marketing. Anyone working as a marketing consultant should understand how SEO works. Part of what I do as a consultant is show people how to effectively use keywords and create content that search engines rank. Every company can use as much free ways as possible to gain traffic. This though has to be done in a way that brings willing buyers.
Definitely. I think my SEO journey began as a way to reduce my bounce rate (not intentionally SEO), and you are so right, give them what they want, what they expect. Thank you, Dennis.
