The Online Business Buzz
Everyone is taking about making money online nowadays.
There are a lot of gurus that will tell you to quit your job and go for it all online.
(By the way, that is HORRIBLE advice, especially as a beginner.)
All the side hustle buzz and noise can be overwhelming, in my opinion.
However, there is a great business model out there to consider.
It is YouTube.

YouTube is a content sharing platform, mainly video content.
There are tons of YouTube video creators and subscribers out there.
In this blog post, I will share the pros and cons of YouTube.
Then, I will share what I think of YouTube and my personal pick of the best business model in my opinion.
This will be from my personal experience and what I have learned about the platform from others.
Let's start with the pros.
PROS OF YOUTUBE
FREE IS THE PRICE
It costs nothing to start a YouTube channel.
YouTube is something that everyone can do, regardless of your income status.
ALLOWS FOR CREATIVITY
YouTube is a great creative outlet for anyone.
Everyone can use YouTube to share business tips, art tutorials, lifestyle vlogs, and much more.
COMMUNITY BUILDING
One of the most important things of YouTube I enjoy is the ability to connect with not only your audience, but other YouTube creators.
Establishing a connection is easy to do on YouTube, especially given that video is more appealing to most people.
MONETIZATION
The Holy Grail of the creator economy seems to be getting monetized on YouTube.
Once you meet YouTube's monetization requirements, you will be eligible to be compensated for ads displayed during your content.
If your channel is big enough, you may be able to be a part of things like brand deals.
CONS OF YOUTUBE
EVERYONE WANTS TO BE A YOUTUBER
YouTube is a great platform for anyone to use.
But since, it is free, there is a low barrier to entry.
This means that there are lots of people creating channels and making content there, just like you.
In my opinion, there is a lot of delusion where people think that being a YouTuber is the only path to success.
Everyone is not meant to be a YouTube content creator.
MARATHON NOT A SPRINT
Strating a YouTube channel is a great idea for a business.
But if you want to make money right away, it is the wrong business to pick.
The path to monetization can be a long, dauting one.
NOT ALL YOUTUBERS ARE CREATED EQUAL
While YouTube is available for everyone to take advantage of, being a small YouTube creator is tough.
You will see some people on YouTube post a video to the tune of millions of views while smaller creators can feel the struggle of YouTube.
The road can be tough, especially as a beginner.
OVERSATURATION
To an earlier point, everyone wants to live the content creator life.
YouTube is a great avenue to get there.
But there are hundreds, if not thousands of people, creating channels every day.
Consider if you want to be swimming in the waters with the rest of those content creators.
CONCLUSION
This is not to tell you to start or not start a YouTube channel. I
That decision is up to you.
I think that being a content creator, especially on YouTube is a great option.
But you need to know that it is not a get rich quick scheme like the gurus will tell you.
I think being a content creator is wonderful is a wonderful way to make money online, if you have to right perspective.
However, in my opinion, the best way to make money online is monetizing a skill you currently have and providing that skill as a service.
You need to find out what your gifts and skills are, then work from that.
If you don't know what your gifts or skills, work on figuring out what that is.
I hope that this blog post helps you out.
God bless you.
