The Other Side Of Online Research

12543404455?profile=RESIZE_584x

Hi Everyone!  This post is about doing the other side of online research. HUH?  The above snapshot is from Google Trends today.  As you can see, the search volume for The Cambridge Diet Plan is up 4600%.   Google Trends can be used to help you with any niche, and it can help you find topics that should help generate traffic.  I want to remind you that you still need to do your research regarding the topic.

For example. this is the time of year when diets jump in popularity and in search volume because summer is coming.  Unfortunately, most people that want to lose weight, do not know much about dieting and do not know how to tell if a diet is good or bad.

In my opinion. the diet is too restrictive. It is a variation of the Keto Diet and puts your body into a state of ketosis.  The Keto Diet has gotten less restrictive over the years, but the Cambridge diet is (IMHO) too restrictive.

Any diet that is restrictive or too restrictive tends to spike in search about now because it can promise more weight loss.  The problem is that restrictive diets do NOT last,  Users quit.

Diets that are too restrictive can hurt you.  Diets that are too difficult teach your brain the wrong lesson.  The lesson is that dieting is something that you quit.  In addition, users often gain back more weight than they have lost.

My point is that tools, such as Google Trends, can be most helpful, but we still need to roll up our sleeves and do the rest of the research.  I have been in the weight loss niche for over 20 years and I still have to do the rest of the research, and you do too.

Your benefit is that your posts and articles and videos and so on will be better and more helpful.  Your visitors and viewers will notice!

Thank you for reading.

Much success,

George Pierce

PS. Again, it does not matter what your niche is, back it up with good research, your content will benefit and so will you.

George.  Your research and keyword skills are awesome.  We have to do the work but you layout a great blueprint to follow, to hit the ground running.  Or at least know what you're doing.

My good luck with keywords is mainly thanks to a marketing method called Bum Marketing which Travis Sago created, and tools such as Keyword Explorer and Ubefsuggest that make it easier to find keywords with good search but less competition, thank you, Robin.

Thank you George, for another value packed PR.  I like the fact that you gave the good and the bad points.  I think an honest opinion is valued more than just giving a 5 stars, especially when you state the reasons why.  I also believe it makes people want to stick around for more from you.  I think the word diet, is deterrant from the start.  It implies something that's going to begin and then end.  But in reality to lose weight, and keep it off is a lifestyle change.  Change for the better, of thinking, habits, eating that will last for the rest of your life.

I agree that diet has taken on a bad connotation, and permanent weight is a lifestyle change.  Permanent weight loss is not what the weight loss industry wants, however.  Thank you, Robin.

Excellent advice about doing research, and how it helps and benefits you and your visitors.

I am not a fan of negativity or negative reviews, but I am a fan of sharing both the good and the bad, it is what visitors and viewers want and need, and many of my web pages are 'reviews'. I feel that sharing the whole story benefits everyone, research is easy, so do the research, thank you, Terri.

Although I'm not into weight loss per se George, I do appreciate the time, effort - and research - which you have put in to establishing yourself and your informative articles as 'go to' resources for those wishing to both lose weight and gain internet marketing knowledge. And therein lies the beauty, and skill, of what you do!

With weight loss, initially, I used research to keep the weight off thinking I could scare myself straight. That is not how to keep it off, it is more a question of choices, changes, mindset, and creating new and better habits, which applies to any success.  Thank you, Tom.
