This is a picture of our wedding day in 1984 - 31 years ago!!

We just got home from a relaxing walk along the Delaware River at the Historic Washington Crossing State Park in NJ and PA.  Then we had a great dinner at Red Lobster to celebrate our anniversary.

I was so tired when we got home, but I checked my email and got a big SURPRISE!!!

My online friend Ferdinand Swart @treecredits is an activist promoting Tree planting, sustainable living, climate and poverty solutions worldwide.  He shared this search program with me a few months ago.  I added it to all my browsers, and have been very happy with it.  I am doing good every time I need to look something up!

I am very security conscious and run scans and high-level internet security often.  I have had no problems with Ecosia, and feel very comfortable with it.

I am thrilled to help plant trees with actions that I do daily, and at no cost to me.

Since 2006 honey bees responsible for pollinating more than 100 crops—from apples to zucchini—have been dying by the tens of millions. As a new report from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) details, scientists are still struggling to pinpoint the cause of so-called Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) and time is running out.

“Currently, the survivorship of honey bee colonies is too low for us to be confident in our ability to meet the pollination demands of U.S. agricultural crops,” the report states."

This is the some of the info that I wrote with my nephew to study history and clulture in Africa before the slave trade became dominant.  This info is on East Africa.  I really enjoyed this study, and thought that you might like to see it!

East Africa has been greatly influenced by trade over the oceans.  They have adapted to crops from Malaysia over generations to include bananas, yams, and some types of coconuts.  Sadly, slaves were traded with many other nations and communities.  Arab traders swarmed to East Africa between 1000 and 1300, setting up business along the ocean shore, and the trade routes of the rivers.  The Arabs brought axes, glass, and wheat to trade for ivory, cinnamon, tortoise shells, rhinoceros horns, and palm oil.  (The situation today about the slaughter of elephants and rhinoceros shows that this trade was not sustainable, much like the buffalo in the western USA in our history).

Andy Griffith warmed the hearts of families with his good natured show from 1960-1968.  

n contrast to the happy lives shown on the television shows, the youth of the 60's were taking drugs, becoming student activists, and having peace demostrations.

Andy Griffith was a wholesome man, and went on to do a lot of great work in television for the rest of his life.
