Marketings role is building brand exposure and trust. This applies to personal brands and company brands. Not so much for product brands. The difference is the product brand pretty much speaks for itself. Products are what will be advertised, which fits under the brand Umbrella. Although there can be a call to action in marketing, that action is not for a person to buy. As a general rule it leads to more in depth information on the subject they searched.

Without know, like, and trust businesses are going to fail. The most important part is building trust. People won't buy from those they don't trust.
