Challenge to be a better you

We go through life often under the influence of other's opinions, a little drugged out and unsettled by the experience.Other people put their fears on our shoulders and without defending ourselves we accept them and live according to their standards. Some of these standards are the basis of safety in our society but a lot are unsubstantiated fears.

The challenge we have to accept is to develop our own view of life. To accept that within our shell are all the skills and talents we need to enjoy a life of meaning and joy. That we are born without any limitations on our ability to take an active role in life and to fulfil our dreams and desires. All our limits are acquired from others, sometimes with the best of intentions, imposing their views, their map of the world on us.

I watched in awe today a young man with spina bifita in a wheel chair execute dare devil stunts. No fear, no limits, all flow. The experience of the thrill and achievement, the freedom and challenge. Being a better person.

What challenge do you need to accept? WHAT LANGUAGE DO YOU NEED TO EXTRACT FROM YOUR SELFTALK? WHO DO YOU NEED TO BE TO SHOW THE REAL YOU?

  • The challenge is to be ever, conscious of our self talk, remove the negative with a laugh, input the positive with joy and share our joy with everyone who supports our journey.

  • Peter, the challenge is ever there, isn't it.  Getting to the point of self acceptance and ability to 'just be' ourselves is such a journey.  Some travel it faster than others.  Still it is a journey well worth taking.  And the points of interest along the way, to be savored.  Thank you for the post.  Sharing.

  • Excellent post Peter and a great read.

  • Great post, Peter. Brought to my mind the Jim Rohn quote: “If you don't design your own life plan, chances are you'll fall into someone else's plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much."

  • Good post, Peter. We need to challenge ourselves constantly to become better people and to leave the world in a better state than how we found it.

    Peter,

Wonderful post. It's true others do define how we think, feel and many times the way we live our lives. The very thought processes we use many times is a by product of others. Although when used in conjunction with our own (inter self) it can actually be a good thing; it can also be very debilitating when one sir-comes to the will of others views totally.

You do have to challenge yourself if you ever want to be who "you" really are and live "your" life to the fullest.

Again Peter, great post thank you so much for sharing,

    Susan
