MLM Training - Other People’s Money (O.P.M.)

I know you are wondering where I’m going with this post.

Be patient I will elaborate further. First I would like to say thank you for taking time to read and get the education I am sharing with you.

I have been seeing a lot of new network marketing programs that encourage people to upgrade with money they have earned instead of paying them.

Why do you think they do this?

Think about this for a few minutes.

I will explain what’s happening here. Since the company is NEW and the majority of them have only been in existence for six months or more. Instead of paying you, they offer you some kind of upgrade into their compensation plan which is supposed to keep you in the company.

In actuality what they are doing is using the money you have earned to keep the company going.

Is this benefiting you? Think about this. The answer is NO!

Want to know more, then keep reading.

They haven’t paid you and they are keeping the money and telling you to keep signing people up.

Now this brings up another situation which means it’s about sponsoring more people to do the same.

It’s really an elaborate scheme because now it’s the wrong business model because you are telling the people you sign up to do the same.

I know what you are thinking, you have to do this in any business. Of course you do however there is something wrong when that’s all you are doing. More about this later in the post.

Has anyone actually been paid yet? I doubt this very much and it’s because they are keeping all the money in the company so they can stay in business. They will tell you to get people on their daily webinars. They have a presentation all set to convince them to sign up. They are building their list in the process and you haven’t even been paid yet.

This is not fair and here you are telling people to join the program. What’s really happening is, you are spending money advertising this program and haven’t been paid. What do you get when you upgrade to the next level in the compensation plan.

Here it is:

1. Ebooks that you can find anywhere on the internet for free and they tell you that you can sell them and make 100% commissions. Good luck and how’s that working for you? I bet many people are not earning any money.

2. Software that most of them probably are not using and want others to buy it. The fact is people will not install these software because they don’t trust if it will do what they say it will.

3. Listbuilding tools which is mostly from them and tied to them in some kind of way. Whose list are you building? Most likely theirs because you this is what they are using and they make money when you sign up using their link to join.

4. A compensation plan that requires you to sponsor more people in to do the same NOTE: Many times they are using a binary or uni-level) These types of plans means you have to constantly sponsor.

This is a just a short list of what you get when you upgrade with the money you have earned. I have seen many programs that tell you this and no one has gotten a check and promoting their heart out.

Why are these programs doing this? They are using your money (O.P.M. - Other People’s Money) and making all the money.

Not you and if you have received a check in the mail from them, then good for you. This means you are one of the smart ones who saw through their program and it’s elaborate setup.

I ask you again is this fair? A resounding NO is my answer to that question. The business model is all wrong because it is all about sponsoring, sponsoring, sponsoring and you’re building their list. They will go out of business if they keep doing this, however they will have a list which you helped them to grow and they can sell it to make thousands or even millions. Sometimes they even come up with a new affiliate marketing program and guess what they’ve got you on their list and will email you to join their new affiliate marketing program.

The question is: “Will you join them again?”

Hopefully not because you will have learned from your past experience with them. When the business model is wrong and you have to keep sponsoring just to earn money from the company, this will not give you residual income so you can retire one day.

I speak the truth to you and hope you found this beneficial and informative. It is your responsibility to make sure the company has integrity and will pay you fairly for your efforts.

If not then you are just spinning your wheels and this leads to frustrations and failure.

I recommend that you sign up to receive more MLM Training from me now. I will be honest and straightforward with you. No half truths and if you don’t like what say, you can always opt out from receiving information from me. I want your success in your home business and this is why I am writing this today.

I summarize by saying this to you:

Don’t get caught up in this kind of program where the company don’t pay you and encourage you to upgrade with money you have earned.  Additionally they don’t offer you anything of value for upgrading except their compensation plan which you must get others to do the same before you start earning money. They are using your money (O.P.M.)  to keep the company going and growing their list from your efforts. They are not paying you and telling you to keep signing people up.

I repeat again this is the wrong business model and the Attorney General will shut them down sooner or later.

You don’t want to be in this kind of program because it’s not fair to you. A check in the mail means you have been paid.

Having said that I will say share this post so more can know about these kind of affiliate or network marketing programs.

  • Great advice Terri. I have had to close a couple of similar accounts. Thank God  the two business I now represent carry real, tested and proven products.  I am proud to be associated with Unicity International.

    Thanks for your insights!

  • Great advice and information Terri and thanks to your help in the past I also opted out of a few of the things I was involved in.  Anything that asked me to upgrade I closed the account.  By the way never did get that payment from the last one I mentioned to you !!  Thanks for sharing.

Dennis what you say is true because if the product is unseen and has no value by your standards then it's not worth the investment of your money. YOU would do better getting the money and doing what you want with it. In the case of digital products, you can find them anywhere on the internet for free, and many times some are such a low cost it's unbelievable the value they tell you it's worth. OMG people think about this before you proceed in these kinds of programs that exhibit this type of behavior. It will never work for you and they are lying to you anyway. I can help you anytime of day to learn how to evaluate a business opportunity to make sure it will earn you residual income.

Thank you Sandy reading and sharing your experience about your program. It's becoming too common these days and people must recognize this sort of behavior. It will not work for them because of the company's business model is wrong if they are doing this.

For a MLM to be worth joining it should have a physical product. In every case this should be a product you believe in and use. If you are not "a product of the product" you will not do as well.

This means something you can receive in the mail. I Have been involved with a few which had only digital products. In every case they either disappeared or changed to a model to include a physical product. Residual income is what everyone is looking for. Residual income for those who don't know is the ability to keep earning for the work of others.
