Market Research and Listening
Oddly enough standing out starts with market research and listening. Your business has only certain people who will be interested in your product or service. Research is what shows who is most likely to have an interest. Once you have found this group of people (niche), you want to listen to them. They know what they want.
Ideal Customer
Once you have found this group, look through and analyze until you find your ideal customer. Understanding your ideal customer is the first step in standing out. Once you understand how your competition reaches their ideal customer, you start looking for ways that serve this potential customer in a way your competition is lacking.
Expectations
In every niche your ideal customer is going to have expectations. This is where the brand comes into play. With your brand you are choosing the colors, voice, mission, and vision which is most acceptable to your ideal customer. In everything you do you are marketing the brand you have created. This works for those who are self branding and business branding.
Consulting and/or Creation
Every Lisech team member is a business owner in their own right. Either one member of the team or the entire team have created the brands and marketing used to promote their own business. Effective marketing takes four disciplines. Each team member has a good understanding of all four, and specializes in one. Every consultation and every brand we have created for customers are done by the team.

Branding online not only helps you to stand out from the rest of the advertising crowd, but it also helps you to be clear to yourself with your message and business.
John, the simplest visual self brand I have ever seen was a woman who refused to allow any pictures of her to be used online unless she was wearing a single same color. The color she wore matched her eyes. Although I saw many pictures of her online I always knew it was her because of that single color and her eyes. What made her truly unique was her voice (the way she put her message across) never changed. All of her advertising with visual had her picture as part of it. Word only ads, contained her brand voice.
That's amazing!
I will never understand why people make things way more complex than they need to be. For years I earned simply by explaining the complex branding and marketing ideas people had, needed to be simplified to reach their audience and to help their employees understand what their goal as a company was.
Believe me sometimes it takes years (while I am being paid, not much) for companies and people to grasp simple is best, and simple works. There are times when I wonder why people keep paying me, until I see the end result. I spent 3 years with one customer before he made a single change. He took notes as we were talking, after those three years he put everything we had discussed into play. His company provided a physical service. Now he has others doing the physical work and earns by providing the work for them from online sources.
I have spent from 2017 to present with a platform for which I consult. They are finally getting it, and the newest launch should move them from 3 million a year to 30 million a year. It is taking longer to launch than anticipated because they are making everything as simple as possible for the user.
So many businesses and individuals seem to overlook or undervalue online branding, marketing, research, and so on. I am not for hire, but I have worked with several non-profits, initially. it is often all about a pretty site, and that is not what it is all about. Thank you, Dennis.
For almost my entire life I have seen the brand as the center of marketing and advertising. The number one item on the agenda is reaching a buying market (Market Research). This means someone willing and able to buy your product or service. Know, Like, and Trust, online or off facilitates the buying experience. A business (any kind of business) has to come across as human. This is where the brand comes in.
It is function, not pretty that gets the job done. The quote at the top of this article says it like it is. What do you want others saying about your business? (Aimed at every business)
