John 14:16-17 (NASB) says “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.”

YOU ARE A NEW CREATURE IN CHRIST.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NASB) says “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.”

YOUR OLD, SINFUL NATURE BEGINS TO GIVE WAY

2. Because God is faithful and His Word is true and dependable, we can rejoice and sing, giving thanks and praise to Him.

3. God pays attention to those who call on Him. Whether God offers escape from trouble or help in times of trouble, we can be certain that He already hears and acts on behalf of those who love Him.

4. When our enemies are unjust and lie about us, even when we do good to them, we can appeal to God who is always just.

1 John 4:7 (NIV) says “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.”

The older I get, I don’t take things so seriously; not like I used to. I now have this incredible opportunity to laugh at myself and enjoy things. Growing up in a traditional church - you always had to be serious about things. The teachings were great, but in some ways those teaching were like a pendulum that went too far to the right, or too far to the left.

We were not permitted to wear lipstick, nor pants, yet when I worked at a major Airline - the wearing of makeup was at the top of their check off list. Our outfits that were given to us as part of our dress code consisted of two (2) jackets and two (2) pairs of pants and one (1) skirt.

Salvation is a gift, pure and simple. God gives us Salvation on the basis of what Jesus Christ has done for us and welcomes us into the Kingdom. How do we receive this gift? We receive it by believing that what God's Word (The Holy Bible) says is true.

What has Jesus done that God should do this for us? 1. Jesus came to earth and lived a life of perfect obedience before God. 2. Jesus died on the cross for us, bearing in His own body the just punishment of God for our sins. God's justice was satisfied with Jesus' sacrifice. Those who believe (have Faith) will be saved.

S - SALVATION means to be rescued from sin and its punishment and set free to know, love and serve God.

The old man sat in his gas station on a cold Christmas Eve. He hadn't been anywhere in years since his wife had passed away. It was just another day to him. He didn't hate Christmas, just couldn't find a reason to celebrate. He was sitting there looking at the snow that had been falling for the last hour and wondering what it was all about when the door opened and a homeless man stepped through.
