This weekend I had two reasons to stay "home". 1. The 4 inches of snow that arrived yesterday has yet to melt. 2. I am expecting my copy of your newest novel.
At this point I have read every book you have written. The gems I have taken away from every book so far have been well worth the time spent reading. Years ago, I said the books you have written are worth at least twice as much as you have asked. There is no doubt in my mind this will hold true for the newest as well.

So far I have only managed to read 70 pages. Due to cirmstances beyond my control I didn't find out it arrived until 6 pm Sunday. At this point what I can say is I have paid up to $25 dollars for books that don't hold my interest as well as The Boy From Broughty Ferry has. It is going to take a while to finish as business comes before pleasure.
The Boy From Broughty Ferry exceeded all my expectations. I do wonder how many people will pick up on the positive ways to change their lives. It is pretty simple really, do what you love. Learn to do it better than your competition. Taking what doesn't belong to you will most likely lead to trouble. Don't fear change it is part of life. Most importantly keep life simple and fun. It isn't until the epilogue that people will find, honesty is the best policy.
It is rare in anything I have read in which the main character is not the hero. In this book you used the concept of showing that a bad guy has a story to tell exeedingly well.
The main character has a lot to tell. He is so young and has experienced so much just in the first two chapters. All in all, I'm looking forward to hearing your feedback as well.
Did anyone notice Torry became what he became quite by accident? This accident did teach him a few lessons, the main one being he felt no remorse for what he had done. He wasn't totally without a consience because he did leave the women he loved behind. I will adimt though it looked just the opposite. Also when he moved he did the same thing at first, and found that because of his father he really did love doing it.
Thanks Dennis. Yes, the anti-hero approach, appealed to me. I'm rewarded to hear that it works for you. As always, your perception, understanding and ability to see behind my words, exceeds even my expectations of you.
After reflecting on my comment I realize I missed a few things. Death is part of life, and something we can't control or avoid. Then, there is really no cause worth living and/or dying for. It was the laid back give and take approach that allowed the wanted changes. As well, what you know, and are willing to learn, is what leads to a lasting success. There is no doubt that finding the right partner can change your life. Lest I forget, Location, Location, Location--This makes all the difference in the world. Every change in location brought new possibilities for Torry.
