Burn Out finding you spell again

Living Wealth Coaching  A guide through Burn Out.
We have six CORE needs for a satisfying relationship whether at work or at play. Certainty, Variety, Significance, Connection, Growth & Contribution. These contribute to the relationship cycle and longevity through the Spring of Connection, the Summer of Contentment, the Autumn of Creation and the Winter of Reflection. Learning the art of weaving the spell that brings them all together is the soul of a relationship. Burn Out breaks the spell.

Variety is lost when you are unable to think clearly about your preferences and see any fun in your future.

Significance is lost when you can't find your friends in the snarl of your confused thoughts.

Connection is lost when there is no chemistry of attraction

Growth is lost when you cannot see the new horizons.

Burnout and stress are related, but they’re not the same.

Burnout is a type of career depression caused by a feeling of powerlessness. Issues may be causing stress, but stress doesn’t always lead to burnout. Stress is the condition where your body is overly taxed. Stress passes, burn out stays.

When burnout occurs, you feel powerless, overwhelmed, depressed, dispirited, no motivation, and no sense of control over events. Your mind is filled with negative questions but no answers that keep on playing. These thoughts can set off the brain draining chemistry of fear.

Burnout and stress are related, but they’re not the same.

Burnout is a type of career depression caused by a feeling of powerlessness. Issues may be causing stress, but stress doesn’t always lead to burnout. Stress is the condition where your body is overly taxed. There are too many conflicting issues to address or you are constantly dealing with threatening situations. Stress passes, burn out stays.

When burnout occurs, the individual feels powerless, overwhelmed, depressed, dispirited, no motivation, and no sense of control over events. It can feel like King Canute who stood at the water’s edge commanding the tide to turn. You are wading waist deep in water but on dry land, you can’t open your email without an adrenalin rush and wanting to rush out the door. Your mind is filled with negative questions but no answers that keep on playing no matter what is happening. These thoughts can constantly set off the brain draining chemistry that comes with fear.

Four Bags Full

Good Morning all, I have been busy writing my third booklet in the series, "The Book of Rocking It".

It is the story of how I was taught about My Money Machine by my mother some 45 years ago. I am attaching it for those of you who would like a little spring inspiration. Please feel free to pass it on to others who you feel may find in inspiring.

There are four books in the series;

"Peter's Favourite quotes" inspirational quotes that inspire me.

"A conversation with Zed" about our language and what we really hear rather than what we say.

“Four Bags Full” which is the story of how I learnt to manage My Money Machine.

"90 Seconds to Live" about how to live a fuller life and change it for the better in 90 seconds.

I hope you enjoy the read.The_Book_of_Rocking_It_Four_Bags_Full..pdf

Building a better business part 4.

Well how have you gone finding your Why? If you pursued it down the rabbit hole you should have come out with one word that describes your purpose. Caring, passion, love, adventure, souls. You should have a nominalisation, a noun that won't fit into a wheelbarrow.

Adventure may apply to a travel business, a specialist sport like rock climbing.

Joy may apply to a florists business or a childcare business. Honda adopted Joy as the one word to describe their motor cycle business.

Passion may apply to a relationship coach or a football team.

My word is soul. I help people find the soul of their business. The abiding reason they come to work and enjoy every day. My mission is to return my chip of god that is my soul in better condition than I received it. So I care for people and how they find the soul in their life. Where they find their passion and joy.

Once you have found your vision, voice reason for living and building a business. You need to set the goals/mission for your business so that you can explain it to others. Your family, your friends, your staff, your customers. You need to write it down and put it at the top of the page on everything you prepare.

Next you need to plan the structure  of your business. In the beginning you may be the shareholder, chief cook and bottle washer. However, as your business grows you will need to explain your why and how for each aspect of your business to many people. The explanation needs to be consistent, otherwise you will confuse the lenders, staff, suppliers and customers. Then Chaos will reign and you will find nothing works, you will struggle to manage and finally you will loose the battle and close the doors.

So let's start thinking about the message. Mine is SOUL. This relates to everything I do. In my relationships with friends, my love and caring for family, my smile and laugh at the behaviour of my grandchildren. It means that my business must be structured to be profitable so I can care for my shareholders, my family and myself. It must allow me the time to live my life to the full. Enjoy time with my grandchildren, travel to see my friends and be generous to the charities close to my heart. It must give me time to learn and grow. It must give me the time and resources to keep fit and healthy. I'm 62 and I intend to live  for 40 + more years. You must have goals consistent with your dream and dream big if you are going to succeed in building a better business.

What are your goals for your life?

Building A better Business Part 3.

So where to start?

You are the sum total of many parts of your life.

Single/partnered/married,

Friend/parent/Grandparent,

The following image sets out the parts of the whole self.The%20Wheel%20of%20Happiness.pdf

Your business plans must provide for your wellness otherwise your life will stall and you will find the distraction affecting your business. There is no point marrying your business and loosing your marriage/relationship.

You need to clearly state your objectives for each part of your life. Do you want a partner/wife? What will you do for date nights?

Do you want children? If you have children how much time will you devote to them? How will you keep fit both physically and mentally? Business can be demanding and problems will always arise who will you talk to?

What is the purpose of your business? This isn’t to make a better widget. It is the reason you will come to work each day and that your staff will want to be their with you. It is the game you will play.

So you have decided to invest your intellect, your time and your money in the business. Your capital! Has it a value? Does it have a value to your family and community? What would these investments mean if you put them back into your family? What strategy will you need to continue to provide for you and your family physically, intellectually and spiritually while you grow your business? Can you afford to neglect them?

Equally as you grow your business you will accept new people into your community, your extended family. How will you provide for them in the same sense? Your staff need to grasp the spirit of your business, to belong in it and see their contribution to it.

My spirit is about CARING. I care about the people close to me and that includes my customers and staff. I SHARE openly in all aspects of my life from my smile, my hugs, my knowledge, my time, my positive attitude, my belief that everyone is created whole and can be all that they dream of being.

My philosophy is:

“I believe that my soul is a chip of God and I want to return it in better condition than I received it.”

What is your Philosophy?

How will you share it?

How will you use it to build your business?

Building a business continued

One of my family friends set the scene for building a business forty years ago with the comment" Before you buy something you need to know where you are going to sell it" He had a wonderful knack of seeing a business opportunity and putting the buy and sell together in the one train of thought.

When we set up a business we are often buying ourselves a job rather than creating a business that we can sell. The Technician's mindset is all about the doing and so there is too much emphasis on the doing and none on where the business is going. When this is the focus the Technician becomes a slave to the business and often burns out before they create a business that supports and is saleable.

Before you start your business you need to ask yourself some probing questions about the WHY you want a business. Is it just to escape the frustration of the boss? Is it about controlling your own work life? Is it about doing a better job? These are all Technician focused outcomes but do you see how they do not serve you the person.

You need to ask yourself why you want a business because there are many aspects to you beyond the doing. What are your personal goals? What do you enjoy in life? What motivates you? How will the business serve you and those near and dear? Will the business be congruent with your personal goals? Will you be able to exit the business when you need to?

In my early years I owned restaurants. In the first year my wife and I had an unexpected arrival. Danielle wasn't in our plans but she soon changed our business. We decided not to attract a lunch trade so we could have quality time with her. Best decision we ever made.

If you build your business from the beginning with your personal goals in mind you will write a very different business plan than if you focus on just the business of doing.

A business can eat all your hours and then demand more. You need to plan the organisation of the business. Think about how it's various parts will connect and how you will delegate tasks as it grows rather than accepting the burden of doing it all yourself.

A business can be a small corner shop or a chain of shops. You can try to do everything or you can recognise your strengths and delegate some of the many roles to others with specific skills so that you can concentrate on your strengths.

Before you can delegate effectively you need to know what you will delegate to whom and how they will perform the tasks. So before you start you need to write out the instructions for your business. Work out the essential checklists that you and later your staff will follow to ensure that you can meet your customers needs to their satisfaction.

How will your business cope if you have an unexpected arrival, need to travel for family reasons or have a staff member come down with a serious illness.

In your business who will handle the customer complaints and how will they deal with them and turn them into a positive experience.

Today's challenge. Respect your business and give it the attention it deserves.
with respect and appreciation for Michael Gerber, auther of the E-Myth books.

When building a business we are usually embrassing our technician. We build the business around our skills and show it off but we don't stop to be the entrepreeur and build our business so that it supports and nurishes us, grows with us andcreates our legacy. We manage by default to get started and unfortunately find that too often we are among the 95% of business startups that fail.
Why?
The technician rushes to set things up to do the do. Enslaving himself to the work, doing everything himself. When if he had thought through the structure of the business he was building at the beginning.
Focused some time on the business plan for now and the future.
He would have seen the need to delegate the various tasks between the Technician, Entrepreneur and Manager.

In the beginning all roles may be undertaken by the business owner. However, with a little growth they soon become overwhelming. This is the time when you need to fall back on your business plan. Decide which role is most important for the founder to undertake and delegate. More tomorrow.....

What's your GAME?

Are you playing the "Master Game"?

Are you stretching your time, energy n talents?

Are you "aiming for a true awakening?"

Playing the game but not committing to it?

Shadow boxing w your true self?

Denying the real you

Awaken to your true potential

Admit confusion, embrace uncertainty and be aware of the opportunities life brings to your door each day.

If you are too comfortable then you are not being true to your calling.

Challenge to be a better you

We go through life often under the influence of other's opinions, a little drugged out and unsettled by the experience.Other people put their fears on our shoulders and without defending ourselves we accept them and live according to their standards. Some of these standards are the basis of safety in our society but a lot are unsubstantiated fears.

The challenge we have to accept is to develop our own view of life. To accept that within our shell are all the skills and talents we need to enjoy a life of meaning and joy. That we are born without any limitations on our ability to take an active role in life and to fulfil our dreams and desires. All our limits are acquired from others, sometimes with the best of intentions, imposing their views, their map of the world on us.

I watched in awe today a young man with spina bifita in a wheel chair execute dare devil stunts. No fear, no limits, all flow. The experience of the thrill and achievement, the freedom and challenge. Being a better person.

What challenge do you need to accept? WHAT LANGUAGE DO YOU NEED TO EXTRACT FROM YOUR SELFTALK? WHO DO YOU NEED TO BE TO SHOW THE REAL YOU?

FEAR

Fear often paralyses us from taking our desired steps in a new direction. It is often irrational and based on False Evidence Appearing Real"". The best way to combat it is by taking small steps rather than leaps of faith. We have all watched a baby learning to walk. There are many failures on the way to success. Nappies are a great cushion for failure and bum shuffling. Eventually the comfort of the floor under the bum is not sufficient to compensate for the thrill of mobility and the little tike gets up and walks. There is no fear of failure in a babies vocabulary, only the thought of success and adventure. Somewhere along the way we create our fears from things experienced or said by others, then adopt them as our self talk. Our challenge is to go back to being brave like we were as babies and accept every challenge for what it is, a life expanding opportunity. Peter Gibbins
